A great book that received little attention outside of the planning world. This guy needs more speaking engagements.

Well thought out article on the front page of the opinion section in @Enquire this morning by @JoshJunker2 - this is the type of discussion that we need to have about what the future of our current 2 mile subway tunnels could be.

The new speed cushions on Beechmont Ave are a drastic safety improvement. Cars were frequently driving 50+ MPH through this intersection, and now they are driving ~25. The @cincinnatimetro bus stop feels a lot safer now! Thanks for prioritizing pedestrian safety, @WeMoveCincy!

“Highways are racist” is one of those things that’s undeniably true but you do sound kinda insane if someone’s hearing it for the first time
Don't worry, folks.
Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg is focused on… solving racist bridges, roads, highways, and tunnels.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
This clip is from Nov 2021 and is not about the bridge in Baltimore

Buttigieg is referring to the works of urban planner Robert Moses. The book “The Power Broker” portrays him as a racist who purposely lowered overpasses. Whether this was for racist reasons is debated.

So, if the size of highways correlates with the growth of a city and region, why is Cincinnati filled with freeways, while Tokyo, which is 22 times bigger, is not?
The aging infrastructure of Cincinnati's N&W to Portsmouth (Peavine) railroad. This is just south of Clare Yard
