Had a great response teaching first year psychology students about big data using sea hero quest. Demonstrating the expansive toolkit available to us as cognitive scientists is a huge amount of fun!
Enrichment Vs Direct perception getting some airtime tonight! Although, this discussion isn't as flesher out. It just shows how current this debate is.
Replying to @WiringTheBrain
Thanks for engaging. My point is: I'm not convinced analogy shows what is intended to show. I'm a cog psychologist, and I would not take people's (or computer's) ability to classify as evidence that there are really 2 *kinds* of faces, just that we humans classify them as such.
Perceptual enrichment Vs direct perception - can illusions inform us of the nature of perception? Fun discussion!
Doesn't this quite nicely show that we need to "enrich" the information we pick up (i.e. no direct perception) for it to make sense? @SteveStuWill @PsychScientists

The compromise power analysis is conceptually confusing. Isn't the whole point of the power analysis to put yourself in the best position possible to find an effect (if there is one)? @lakens @chrisdc77 @PsychScientists tinyurl.com/y7bul87v

In Eco Psych terms, transfer comes b/c the performer learns to couple their movement with specifying perceptual information resulting in an effective movement solution. Nothing is “retrieved” to control the action. It happens online. Will be talking about this more next week
