Why a $525B wealth manager put his headquarters in Miami: “If you think about it with a totally clean slate, where do you want the headquarters for the business ultimately to be? I picked Miami.” “I think we're still in the early days of what we'll see in South Florida.” “We were by no means a pioneer of moving to Miami. But we were a little bit early relative to the flood of movement that’s happened on the back of us.” — Corient CEO Kurt MacAlpine

This is an incredible story. Kurt created Corient from scratch in 2020 and just 6 years later it’s the largest multi-family office and non-bank wealth manager in the world. It shows what happens when relentless execution is combined with the power of aligned incentives.
Kurt MacAlpine. Corient. Kurt built a half a trillion dollar multi-family office in 6 years. This is a wild story. Tomorrow !

Alex and Rasmus are taking good businesses and are making them great with AI. They are on to something big: take a durable services business, apply AI the right way, provide a better service much more efficiently, and compounding follows.
Today, Long Lake completed our $6.3B acquisition of Amex GBT. Long Lake acquires and transforms generational businesses with AI across the American services economy. Amex GBT is the travel partner for 17,500 businesses in 140 countries. Last year, Amex GBT booked 35 million trips for 10 million travelers. This marks Long Lake’s 40th acquisition, and our family of companies now employs nearly 30,000 people. We founded Long Lake three years ago with the thesis that AI is going to change every company, but there’s a large overhang between AI capabilities and how most businesses leverage AI tools. We partner with strong, profitable, and growing businesses to help them deploy AI and improve their customer service. Our first cohort of companies has doubled their EBITDA in less than two years through topline and productivity growth, all while increasing headcount. (We’re proud to say that we’ve never conducted a layoff.) We’re excited to share a bit more about what we’ve been up to.

From concept to reality. @SpaceX has successfully deployed Starlink V3 satellites into Earth’s orbit and made contact with them for the first time. At scale, one Starship carries 60 V3 satellites, the same network capacity as about 20 Falcon 9 launches.

SpaceX just confirmed that all 26 @Starlink V3 satellites deployed in orbit today during Flight 14 have successfully made contact with each satellite via laser links, ground stations, and even Starlink user terminals! Each one of those satellites is equivalent to about 10 previous-gen V2 Mini satellites that fly on Falcon 9. This is a game changer.

This is in less than 2 years, one of the fastest ramps in history... and just getting started...
Cognition has crossed $1B in annualized revenue run rate. This milestone belongs to our customers. Here's how a few of them are building with Devin.

The best. I regularly re-listen to episodes from the back catalog and learn something new each time. Founders is my single best source for learning and for inspiration. Thank you David for putting such exceptional work out into the world that so many people benefit from. As David Ogilvy said “I admire people who work with gusto.” And as Steve Jobs said “I don't think my taste in aesthetics is that much different than a lot of other people's. The difference is that I just get to be really stubborn about making things as good as we all know they can be... if you're going to make something, it doesn't take any more energy — and rarely does it take more money — to make it really great. All it takes is a little more time. Not that much more. And a willingness to do so, a willingness to persevere until it's really great."
Today is the 10 year anniversary of Founders. It’s my life’s work. Thank you for listening.

The rate at which we get used to an innovation is astounding. Sam Altman said it about ChatGPT: the first reaction was "this is amazing." The next day: "why isn't it faster?" There's no natural ceiling on how much speed people demand. Or how much faster than the competition you want to be. As soon as something gets faster, we want more. In the 1990s the search went mainstream. And what is the market for slow search today? Zero. What about slow, dial-up internet? The market is 0. In fact, if you want to punish your 12 year old, don’t take away their phone. Throttle their Wi-Fi to dial-up speeds. Few punishments could be more frustrating. It's the same with AI. That pattern is now playing out in coding, chat, and agentic flows. Once something is useful we want to use it. Once something feels slow, it stops being acceptable. Even if it was revolutionary yesterday. Speed is never "good enough.” The companies that deliver faster on hard problems will win.

Thank you Ibrahim. I remember that 2017 visit well and your conviction from that moment on stands out. You have rare judgment, as an investor and as a person. Full credit to @hhtbzayed who in 2017, years before it was obvious, immediately and with zero hesitation saw exactly what SpaceX would become. Syed Basar Shueb and Sofia Lasky had the same conviction from day 1. They were years ahead of the curve, exactly as HH Sheikh Tahnoon also was with AI when he recognized years before almost anyone, years before ChatGPT was released, before Anthropic existed, how profoundly AI would reshape the world, and he and he positioned for it decisively and at scale. A big shout out to @johnhering and @atamas who first introduced me to SpaceX back in 2017 and have quietly played a valuable role there.
Ahead of Friday’s monumental SpaceX milestone — a huge thank you to @rick_gerson for taking us on this incredible journey. From that electric 2017 cafeteria moment watching Falcon 9 land to everything they’ve built since… the vision, the energy, and the execution are unmatched. Grateful to be part of it

the economy is splitting. AI is the fault line. on Ramp, Nov 2022 to Nov 2025, annualized revenue growth by AI intensity: - heavy AI users: +27% - moderate AI: +18% - no AI spend: +3% (≈ US nominal GDP) over 20 points a year between top and bottom. this compounds.
Since 2023, the top quartile of AI spenders on @tryramp have more than doubled their revenue. Bottom quartile? Flat A roofing company in Texas. A window installer in Utah. A construction firm in Florida that grew 65% The gap is accelerating and most companies don't feel it yet

Today Cerebras announced that @awscloud will be deploying Cerebras CS-3s in their data centers. Together, Cerebras and AWS will be delivering the fastest inference solution in the world. It has been an extraordinary 30 days for Cerebras. In February, we announced that we would be powering OpenAI’s fast inference offering. And within days of signing the contract, we delivered the first tranche of capacity to production. And today, we announce a multi-year partnership with the industry’s largest cloud provider, AWS. Together, we will be building fast inference solutions comprised of Trainium 3 doing prefill and Cerebras’ Wafer Scale Engine doing decode. Cerebras is now powering the world's #1 AI provider, OpenAI. And will be available in the worlds #1 cloud, AWS. Now back to work.

SpaceX is one of the most dominant companies on the planet and their performance gap just keeps getting bigger. In 2025, SpaceX launched more mass to orbit than every other provider on Earth combined. MUCH MORE: every payload from China, Russia, Europe, and all American launchers wasn’t even a fifth of what SpaceX put into orbit. They’re the only company producing rockets at an industrial scale. The practices that made SpaceX dominant aren’t unique to rockets. They’re a blueprint for building anything hard. This episode — and the essay it is based on — explores How SpaceX Works:
