at this point, does Democrat Abdul El-Sayed have any relatives that do NOT have ties to terrorists?
NEW from me
Abdul El-Sayed’s father sits on the board of a charity that was busted by the feds for funneling cash to Saddam Hussein just before the Iraq War—and whose offices were raided by both the FBI and the U.S. military

Wheels down on the ice!
A U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III, ICE02, flight recently landed at Phoenix Airfield, helping launch the 2026–2027 Antarctic research season for the National Science Foundation’s U.S. Antarctic Program and New Zealand’s Scott Base.
Advancing American scientific leadership takes innovation, expertise, and strong partnerships. U.S.–New Zealand joint efforts bring researchers to one of the world’s most challenging environments, supporting discoveries and maintaining a strong U.S. presence in Antarctica.
Personally, I prefer my scientific discoveries somewhere with central heating, but I'm glad we've got people willing to go the extra mile (and a few thousand more) for science.
Wishing all aircrews, scientists, and support teams a safe and productive season on the ice!

Let America build again.
Congress must meet the moment by coming together to pass the Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act.

I’ve had this weight on me for a while and felt the need to share it once and for all.
Years ago, the CEO and co-founder of Semafor, a media publication, approached me. He presumably wanted me to consider investing, because he spent a significant amount of time boasting about all of his supplemental sources of revenue.
I was stunned when he bragged about getting an enormous amount of money from the government of Qatar. The pretense was that he was receiving these funds to “train journalists.” I don’t recall the precise amounts, but recall that he acknowledged that the cost to conduct this “training” was a tiny fraction of what he was getting paid - directionally it was something like getting paid $2mm to conduct a “media training” boot camp that would cost Semafor $50,000 to execute. I pointed out that it sounded like he was being bribed - that nobody with proper intentions would offer to pay something that was 20-100X off market - and no entity pretending to be a journalism outfit should accept stuff like that, as it would compromise him.
He insisted that wouldn’t happen. But over the course of many years, I’ve observed how Semafor continues to receive government sponsorships and perform all sorts of “trainings” and “conferences” in partnership with Qatar, while providing very complementary coverage to the government of Qatar. This is downright unethical - and particularly unbecoming of an outfit pretending to be “training journalists”! The problem doesn’t end with Semafor.
The government of Qatar has been buying off media, education and other groups, with reports of how it deployed billions of dollars in the US higher education system. All of us who care about ethics should demand an investigation into these practices. Regardless of whether legal authorities choose to look into this, we as the people and the consumers should admonish such egregious behavior and ensure we avoid “media” publications that are so compromised.
Countless journalists risk their lives every day to expose abuses in power. Semafor does a disservice to the profession by undermining trust.

Ponch
Fifteen years ago a friend showed up at my doorstep and said, “here Kenny, you need to learn to attach to something.” That’s the day Poncho entered my life.
I’ve heard a dog enters your life when you need it most. And not just any dog, a specific dog just for you. To help you, to heal you, to show you how to accept unconditional love and give it back.
Poncho did all that and more. He brought so much joy, energy, light, and fun into mine and Mary’s life.
He was a constant companion, very curious, had swagger, and smarter than the average human.
He loved being on the boat, the bus, backstage with Jill and the production team. He loved the smell of the ocean and the islands like his dad and loved all the smells walking down the streets of Key West, Florida.
One of his proudest moments was prancing on stage at Soldier Field in Chicago in 2024. I thought it would scare him but he loved feeling the energy of the crowd and refused to leave the stage. Instead of being timid, he was a show off a lot like me. That was a favorite moment in 15 years of favorite moments.
We lost Poncho at 5:15am this morning and my heart is broken but yet so full cause I know he gave us all he had. We went down a lot of roads, lived a lot of life, and saw a lot of sunsets together.
Poncho, my friend was right. I needed you and I thank you. Our connection and our bond will live forever and I’m gonna miss you. Say hello to DaRubaGirl for us.
Goodbye Poncho.
You were one heaven of a dog.

espn.com/espn/feature/story/… 🏀🏀 Three seasons ago, Connecticut was the dominant team in college basketball and won a second straight national championship.
Two seasons ago, Florida emerged as the best team by February and won 12 of its final 13 games on the way to the NCAA title.
Last season, Michigan revived the UConn script and dominated from start to finish to cut down the nets.
This season? So far, it feels a lot more unpredictably normal. Florida is the consensus preseason No. 1 team, but not in a way that screams national champion with any certainty. At least a half dozen other teams could be just as good by March -- if not better -- albeit after a bit more seasoning.
All of which has me circling back to Illinois, which has produced Elite Eight and Final Four appearances over the past three campaigns. Star forward David Mirkovic still being in a boot as of this update is concerning, but the upcoming marathon favors patience, balance and depth.
The Illini should have it all when it matters most.
