On the eve of the Governor’s election, I think of my mom, Rose, who was a true public servant and taught second grade until she was 70-years-old. She never stopped believing in her students. She never stopped believing in me or her granddaughter Abigail who she is with in this photo.

Everyone is singing in English, then Canadian singer Bryan Adams comes along and starts singing in Italian. You can see how delighted Luciano Pavarotti is, with a huge smile on his face. He seems genuinely impressed and deeply appreciative of the respect Bryan is showing, and you can even see him bowing at the end of the song.
There’s something I can learn from this. If everyone showed love and respect for one another, the world would be a much better place.
