Why is RTP-MIDI so complex? Why bother allowing status octets to be optional for subsequent MIDI events in the packet? Isn't the 80s-era MIDI protocol bandwidth efficient enough?! tools.ietf.org/html/rfc6295 😓 #midi
Wow! Turns out Wireshark fully interprets RTP-MIDI packets and fully describes the underlying MIDI events. That's going to be pretty useful for debugging/monitoring...
And now UDP! Unfortunately #megawifi UDP support is only available in #blastem nightly builds & only available for Windows (and I coudn't build the macOS code locally). Anyway, it works fine in Wine. Next step - try and establish an Apple Network MIDI session! 😅 #megadrive #midi
