Don’t know who ‘we’ are in this post ? But Iran and the Houthis are doing quite a bit of pummelling back , unless I am deceived
BREAKING: President Donald J. Trump has CONFIRMED more oil is flowing through the Strait of Hormuz than BEFORE the war! This DEMOLISHES liberal talking points. Not only are we PUMMELING Iran — we are GAINING OIL! Gas prices are about to PLUMMET! Thank you DJT!!!

I found my self yelling at the radio when Anna Foster started asking why funds spent on a public information campaign were not just given to the MOD to help with increasing defence budget Not appreciating the huge difference in scale between the two. She is hopeles.

A phyrric victory mate, if it’s true . At what cost? The bombing and loss of life continues . The insurance costs and difficulties of hiring crew very different. No it is not a triumph for Trump . Two major choke points still under threat. Perhaps I live in a different world from Dr Desmond

Can’t think there is much point if it’s just a fest of personal abuse
I have spent much of today with a former British diplomat .@john_foremancbe yapping at my trouser-cuffs like a demented Chihuahua. He claims that I am a 'Kremlin apologist' etc, so demonstrating the establishment's pitiful inability to debate Ukraine policy.

Why is Anna foster talking such nonsense about resilience and defence on the BBC today show this morning? Bland platitudes lead to unintended misinformation and disinformation. What chance a national conversation about resilience and security as the pols and Whitehall continuously blather? No chance - perhaps ill conceived from the start

I do not endorse this message . The grammar and syntax - forget the sentiment - would make Cicero blush.
Fuck off Zelensky. Russia is not our enemy. Those idiots trying to claim we should be against Russia don’t have a leg to stand on because they support the massacres and genocides by Israel. So to all of you morons promoting war with Russia fck off you have zero support from me. I do NOT CONSENT

Europe have allowed social media to radicalise it's population unregulated. So many now believe the US/Russian propaganda. It's sickening we've been let down.

Bizarre, huh ?
The US is suddenly and quite rapidly moving to end the Ukraine war by offering wild, unprecedented concessions to Russia for one reason, and one reason alone: Netanyahu and the lobby overpowered every anti-Russia hawk in US defence circles, and reprioritized Iran as the top and only national security emergency for the US. With very high probability, this is another sign that the hot war on Iran is about to resume at the command of the US supreme leader, Milikovski Iran will shatter the empire and Israel. It will be fucking glorious

Since 2022 Russia has fired 20x more missiles and 4x as many drones into Ukraine, than vice versa. A serial and shameful liar.
Hitchens is a terrible apologist for the Kremlin: ‘Look carefully at that conflict over the past two years and you will notice the outcome, a change from a grinding land war into an increasingly costly and bloody exchange of missiles and drones, much of it deep in Russian territory’ spectator.com/article/genera…

Tom thanks - really valuable
🚨EXCLUSIVE🚨This has been an incredibly long and painstaking piece of work, led by @GazTheJourno who spent months looking at maps, an ungodly number of digital tracking data websites and plotting where various Russian ships had been and how that corresponds to the network of undersea cables. It’s also one of the last stories I played a part in during my time at @Telegraph. telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/10…

Power to the people Mr Rubio ? Not to the nuclear dictators . This is nuts
Exactly. Russia can be a critical ally for us moving forward. Good to see the adults driving the conversation.

What a silly little post!
This time next year, Zelensky will be safely ensconced at a country mansion somewhere in Sussex. There he will be feted and visited by the likes of Boris Johnson, Keir Starmer, Sunak, Obama, Hillary Clinton, and von der Leyen et al. His memoir, ghost written, will see him embark on a promotional tour of the chat show and podcast circuit, during which he will be curated as the man who stood up to Putin and was betrayed by Trump. As part of this hagiographic carnival, Zelensky will be given an honorary knighthood by King Charles, accompanied by the usual trumpets and banquet. Meanwhile, back in Ukraine, investigators will uncover corruption under his premiership on an industrial scale. These findings will be summarily dismissed as a in the West as a fabrication, cooked up in the Kremlin. For the ordinary Ukrainian, left to pick up the pieces, heartrending stories of men being kidnapped from their families by Zelensky's conscription press gangs --- never to be seen again -- will be commonplace. These stories will be joined by accounts of war pensions denied, compensation payments for the loved ones of fallen soldiers declined, and as will details of widespread torture and abuse within the ranks. No lessons will be learned -- just as none were learned from previous failed military adventures in Afganisation, Iraq, Libya, Syria, etc. The circus will move on to the next, confirming that though the faces change, the game remains the same.
There's a new version of this post

John this is in line with the change in Spectator editorial line. Hitchens attack on Walker is misguided and idiotic . Does he really think Walker’s speech at Catherine was done without clearance ? If he does, it’s faux naivite - not for the first time. Spectator Russian apologists - what the modern strategists call an element of cognitive warfare

This Disney history - I suppose we are all supposed to want to belong to La Russia alla Putanesca ?
Ukraine belongs to Russia. It is historically Russian land. Hand it back to Russia so America can finally put America first. American families are struggling, and Ukrainians are not our problem. Fix our economy, secure our borders, and stop bankrolling a foreign war that does nothing for the American people… Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Ukraine is a sovereign independent country since 1991. Kyivan Rus centered in modern Ukraine is a common historical root with Russia, but its territories spent centuries under Polish-Lithuanian and other rule before Russian imperial control in parts. britannica.com/topic/history-… nationalgeographic.com/history/articl… politifact.com/article/2022/f… en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ukraine
