It must be so frustrating to be a Conservative politician and to have all these fantastic ideas for how to make the country better so soon after having 14 years in power when all they did was make the country worse.
This is what I hate about UK politics.
Olly Robins testimony backs up Starmers version; confirms it wasnโt normal practice to share vetting information with ministers (so he didnโt).
@KemiBadenoch comment โthis is devastating for PMโ. Kemi just watch it first before commenting
Russia must be delighted with Trumpโs tantrum - threatening to invade a country becauseโฆ.checks notesโฆhe didnโt win the Nobel peace prize.
You really couldnโt make this up
This is what every Londoner has been saying for ages - those who complain about crime here typically donโt live here/the UK (and are likely to be reform voters).
Londoners know itโs not the case (and the number is even higher for Londoners talking about their local area).

@HeathrowAirport any chance we can get the bags from the Tenerife flight BA 417? Lots of people waitingโฆ.

NHS Hospital records are the most reliable indicator of knife attacks.
They show a trend rather different to the social-media narrative about London...

Lord Sumption, former supreme court judge, says Robert Jenrick's plan for lord chancellor (justice sec) to appoint judges would be serious mistake.
"If judges were appointed in todayโs polarised world by the lord chancellor, I do not think the public would have the same confidence in their independence.
"Theyโre actually appointed by the judicial appointments commission, which is an independent, non-political body, and it looks for the same qualities in the judges it appoints.
"The only possible reason for going back to the old system would be to appoint judges who were less independent or more political than the ones appointed by the judicial appointments commission.
"In the United States, the supreme court has become subservient to the president and enabled him to behave like an autocrat. I think that that is a very serious business in the United States, and we should be very careful to take take warning from it."

Britain pays wind farms to turn off when itโs windy and overpays gas plants to switch on instead. It'll cost bill payers up to ยฃ8b/yr by 2030. Zonal energy pricing would slash this.
Weโve started tracking this (avoidable) waste live on our site: octopus.energy/
Iโm currently in position 621,282 in the queue to get Dolphins vs Commanders tickets. So that presumably means 50-60k tickets are about to go up on ticket tout websites at 3-4x the face value

โOnce. as an MP, I proposed that offshore billionaires pay just 25k a year to avoid all UK taxes and claimed this would benefit the poorโ

@elizabethline has major issues again today towards Heathrow. Thinking I might have to set up a permanent account to report these things as @tfl seem to be in a permanent state of denial
Ok @tfl if the driver knows that there are severe delays due to overhead powerline issues why doesnโt your website? Surely you should be letting people know so they can consider alternative routes?

The Economist estimates that the annual costs of Reform UKโs manifesto would be around ยฃ200bn and savings around ยฃ100bn. The gap would amount to a colossal fiscal shock, blowing up the deficit and straining the gilt market to its limit econ.st/4jGgTfP

This summer. Not solo (yet!), but as part of another @cosmiccharity relay team. Sheโs still wary of jellyfish, still driven, and still as determined as ever to make a difference.
Congratulations @tfl for completely cocking up the tube network and #lizzyline on the day of the #LondonMarathon when the whole world is watching
