"Novissima, Plate 39" (1901–1905), edited by Edoardo de Fonseca (1867–1936). I'm a big fan of the Novissima style. That turn-of-the-century combination of elegance, decorative design and artistic confidence has a character all its own.
"It's Our War" by Eric Aldwinckle (1909–1980). A title that leaves little room for ambiguity. A reminder that war is never just something happening somewhere else.
"The Rebirth of the Arts" (1875) by Charles Haslewood Shannon (1863–1937). Art is back on the menu after a few detours into other subjects. Time to return to our regularly scheduled cultural programming.

"Satan Creating Monsters" (19th century) by Félicien Rops (1833–1898). Dedicated to Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and the monstrosities his government has been producing in Poland. Some artworks age remarkably well.
