House of the Dragon has somehow managed to top GoT for awful alide into infuriating nonsense. The only good tjat will come of it is the certajn video.of that floppy haired academic who will be screaming TRENCHES! in his commentay on why the seige was possibly the worst ever on TV
This past few weeks, I have been repeatedly reminded of an old quote:
"Do not attribute to malice what can be attributed to ignorance".
It's been a very tumultuous few weeks. But there is light at the end of the tunnel. Progress and steps forward. And soon much to show for it.
Yup. Who would have thought that literal monarchs used to dictating everything all day, every day, may not consider that the rules applied to them. And that when caught they would actually have to answer for it to us common folk.
Yup. Hope National League & forced sale happens.
It's official. The statement released today by the Premier League ultimately confirms, unequivocally, the truth of everything that was revealed through Football Leaks. The Independent Commission is also particularly harsh in the way it characterises the actions taken by Manchester City executives, who, without a shadow of a doubt, acted with complete impunity, challenging everyone and everything. From the very beginning, they have demonstrated a complete lack of respect for the rules, for the bodies responsible for overseeing and regulating the game, for the integrity of the competition, for the other clubs and, above all, for the fans.
Years and years of cheating, lying and manipulation will finally have consequences.
One of the interesting things for me given how the numbers are coming out for Man City, is that the 115 charges are only until 2018. They are almost certainly guilty then of hundreds more from 2018 to now. Which means another round of this is going to happen.
A reasonable take. You can understand why Giggs doesn't stand behind a club from the same city. You coukd consider it the same family (of clubs). No loyalty even if they are brothers (in the league).
Not that he's wrong in fairness. Just maybe not the best person to ask.
🚨 Ryan Giggs on the implications of relegating Manchester City from the Premier League:
🗣️ Ryan Giggs: “I’ve heard City fans saying that if Manchester City are relegated, the Premier League will lose billions in revenue and lose its European relevance.
“I understand why they would say that.
“But I think they’re confusing Manchester City with the Premier League itself.
“The Premier League was the biggest league in the world before Manchester City became dominant, and it will still be one of the biggest leagues in the world without them.
“People say, ‘The Premier League needs City.’
“Really?
“Look at the clubs in England.
“Manchester United. Liverpool. Arsenal. Chelsea. Tottenham. Newcastle. Aston Villa.
“These clubs have enormous global fanbases.
“And Manchester United in particular remains one of the biggest commercial clubs in world football.
“United generate huge revenues because of the size of the club, the supporters, the sponsors and the global audience.
“So if City go down, are people genuinely going to stop watching the Premier League?
“Are broadcasters suddenly going to walk away?
“Are sponsors going to disappear?
“Are people around the world going to stop watching United against Liverpool, Arsenal against Chelsea, Newcastle against Tottenham?
“Of course not.
“And then there’s this argument about European relevance.
“England will still have some of the biggest clubs in Europe competing in the Champions League and Europa League.
“The Premier League doesn’t depend on one club to maintain its status.
“I played for Manchester United for years. I know what happens when United are competing at the top.
“The attention is enormous.
“The commercial interest is enormous.
“The global audience is enormous.
“And that doesn’t disappear because another Manchester club is playing in the Championship.
“If Manchester City are relegated because of a regulatory decision, then that’s something they have to deal with.
“You can’t say, ‘Don’t punish us because the league might lose money.’
“If the rules matter, they have to matter when the consequences are serious.
“And maybe that’s the part people are forgetting.
The Premier League didn’t become globally relevant because of Manchester City. Manchester City became globally relevant because they were part of the Premier League.”
The football gods are so fickle. I take it all back... We don't talk about Bruno... like that.
Leif Davis on my bench in FPL. Mbuemo, Bruno (c), Maguire all played. Cos of course United can't suck that bad to go behind to two newly promoted teams... right?
How do United always find a way to suck so bad? Tbf i guess Spurs have done the same of late.
Hull now 2 wins out of 2 in the Prem after maybe the most unlucky promotion ever...
Right, fess up lads. Who's save scumming FM?
Cos it's correlation not causation. There are many similar studies pointing to many factors, and a LOT more to do to narrow down the cause.

BREAKING: Just 20 minutes before Trump's announcement that the Strait of Hormuz was open, massive trades hit the market.
Investors sold a combined 7,990 lots of Brent crude futures, a $760 million bet that oil would go down.
These orders were much larger than anything else at the time.
The traders made huge gains.
Unusual.
Really interesting example in football. I would like to know mote details - is it modtly the grounds? Is it wages are much higher cos they would be semi pro? Is it to stay amateur? And what are the steps forward. Hashtag Utd are a really interesting club and lessons for everyone.

So after top US officials said they thought Iran bombed their own school, news outlets now report and show direct videos of the US missiles hitting it.
No country can support this & claim any moral high ground. Good on Spain. Shame on others.

From earlier draft, a starting difference of 5.5% and final differences of 4.9%. Not exact same dataset, but heavily suggests women are BETTER at negotiating than men - or at least employers offer lower starting but come up higher to reach a closer final outcome.
So this is initial offer. Interesting data.
Did you have data in the same study for final accepted salary? That would isolate negotiation relative to original offer and show if men or women negotiate more relative to original offer.
Genuinely curious.
What a lovely fat pussy. And a cute cat too.
Kudos to Mr @rickygervais re: animal charity donations. Would love to see how that gets used down the line :)

Happy arbitrary dates everyone :) congratulations for surviving a revolution of the planet and hope your literal wishes upon a star are reasonable.
Enjoy the loud noises if you enjoy loud, unsafe bangs. Commiserations if you're a baby, a cat/dog, or a grumpy slightly old person.
I had three naps today. Does that mean early access? @rickygervais

Generally true, tho not the full story with futsal. Players who spent years developing the sport when no-one else supported suddenly kicked out for footballers w/little to no futsal experience. And after the tournament? They leave... Back to zero.
