@FolkloreThursday - On an art kick lately. "Three Living and Three Dead" 15thC. 3 noblemen suddenly come across 3 corpses, in varying states of decay, but still animated. The dead admonish them to consider the transience of life and to improve their behavior before too late.

#FolkloreThursday #Art - Allegorical Painting of a tired Queen Elizabeth I by Barthel II about 1610. Shows Old Father Time at her right and death over her left shoulder-implying death is near. She actually died in 1603, but showed it later to avoid problems. #Paintings #UKArt
