Great to see this scientific breakthrough, which identifies the elusive #HIV reservoir in immune cells. This could be a first step towards developing a lasting functional cure for HIV. We welcome scientists' committment to end AIDS in our lifetime.

"If the US assistance for #HIV is not restored after the pause in April, and it is not replaced by other funding, there will be an additional 6.3 million AIDS-related deaths in the next four years."

For decades, UNICEF and its partners have saved lives. Since 2000, child mortality has dropped by 50 per cent. Millions of children are alive today because of this work. Now, this progress is at risk. We cannot let this be the moment we turn away.
When education becomes a distant dream, who will open the door to learning for every child? When access to healthcare is denied, who will fight for every child’s right to a healthy life? I am. We are. #ForEveryChild. Together, we can protect every child, restore hope, and build a future where all children thrive.
Join us in turning despair into determination. lnkd.in/daV9fXvT

A society grows great when old people plant trees, the shade of which they know they will never sit in. Good people do things for other people. That's it. The end.

The global COVID-19 vaccination effort is estimated to have saved around 20 million lives — in just its first year.

ALT This chart, titled "COVID-19 vaccination saved millions of lives worldwide," illustrates the estimated global number of deaths averted between December 2021 and December 2022 due to COVID-19 vaccination. The chart compares the actual number of excess deaths with the estimated number of lives saved by vaccinations, both directly (in dark blue, representing 15.5 million deaths averted) and indirectly (in light blue, representing 4.3 million deaths averted from lower infection rates). The pink area shows the actual number of excess deaths, totaling 11.6 million.

All children and adolescents living with HIV have a right to access treatment and support.
By placing rights, dignity, care and empowerment at the center of the HIV response, the world can forge a path to end AIDS as a public health threat by 2030. #WorldAIDSDay2024

Being unconnected today means missing out on the opportunities of tomorrow.
Internet connectivity in low-income countries is drastically lower than in high-income countries.
UNICEF’s latest report highlights the urgent need to bridge this gap and give every child a fair chance.
