JENNIE has taken part in an animated film OST for the first time since her debut. As she takes on a new musical challenge with a track from the Netflix animated film “Steps,” the song has already been nominated at a global music awards ceremony ahead of its official release.
On the 6th at 2PM (KST), JENNIE will release “Someone to Hold,” the OST for Netflix’s animated film “Steps,” on all music sites. “Steps” is an action comedy that reimagines the Cinderella story from the perspective of her stepsister, Lilith, adding a fresh angle to the familiar fairy tale.
“Someone to Hold” is a ballad inspired by vintage dance pop sounds, capturing the bond and warm affection between sisters. As the track accompanies the film’s emotional climax, there is growing anticipation over how JENNIE’s vocals will blend with the story. Notably, the song was nominated in the Song – Animated Film category at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards (HMMA) before its official release.
Speaking about her first animated film OST, JENNIE said, “I had so much fun working on my first song for an animated film. I really loved the warm hearts and personalities of the characters, and I was happy to be even a small part of their world.” Having continued to explore various musical styles as a solo artist, JENNIE has further expanded her scope of activities with this OST.
