-> Anarchy is the natural state of things.
-> Under anarchy, people have natural rights they are free to exercise.
-> Anarchy is vulnerable to "overthrow" by collective (government) use of force (power). The government that utilizes power most effectively will displace the anarchy, regardless of how righteous the ideology of the other governments are. (Righteousness is not a necessary condition of power). This is binary (but situation dependent) - a government either does or does not have enough power to enforce the rules.
-> The displacement of the anarchy is inevitable because there exists collectives / governments with ideologies that support the use of force to displace anarchy.
-> Therefore, for the government with the most righteous ideology to displace the anarchy, it also needs to be the most powerful government.
-> Corollary: if you believe libertarianism (the preservation of natural rights) is the most righteous ideology, then it is also OK to believe that a libertarian government can possess the most power and use that power to displace external anarchy and protect against external threats, with the goal of preserving internal anarchy (natural rights) for the citizens of that government.
The disputes within libertarianism are usually not about the purpose of government, it is about how government can effectively achieve the above. Libertarians can truly range between pure anarchist and neocon. I believe that the libertarian party can attract more people if it focused official messaging on the importance of preserving natural rights and the benefits of that, while leaving the "how" for internal debate.

We definitely need GPUs in space because it's a pain in the ass to get the electrician shit right here on the ground. You don't have to worry about cable sprawl everywhere up there or extension chords that you shouldn't be using...
Turns out everything will be GPUmaxxed instead of paperclip maxxed
Water heater? Nah you just need GPUs.
Refrigerator? AC? Nah, you just need some GPUs
The most frightening aviation incident happened to me while I was arriving to NYC at night from Mexico City. We were just about to cycle around to land in bad weather when suddenly we got an announcement that we were diverting to Newark. The plane HAULED ASS out of there and the turbulence was pretty bad the whole way. I was 100% ready to deplane and Uber back from Newark but we had to wait on the tarmac for the weather to clear and fly back because we didnt cross customs yet.
Good timing
We asked GPT-6 Astra to edit Qwen3.5-0.8B weights to improve math.
It directly changed only 0.016% of weights, fixing 0.8B's reasoning loops & improving math up to 6x and even instruction following 3x, without gradients or training.
We call this Weight-Space Programming: frontier LLMs can now natively read/write neural network weights! ๐งต

Biblical prophecy says it will. If it's true, either @elonmusk is doomed to fail, or he has a path to the rapture:
1. 1 Thessalonians 4:17 (KJV)
โThen we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.โ

Iโve deleted all my recent posts about Mao.
I started receiving direct threats and hate mail โ the latter for the first time โ and itโs simply not worth having those posts up there when that becomes a risk to my own safety.
I also realised that the discussion and debate did not move in a productive direction. My aim was to highlight the complexity of Maoโs legacy in the hope that more people would try to develop a more nuanced understanding of him. Iโm not sure if that was achieved.
Iโm definitely happy to talk about and share my views on Mao โ but perhaps not on this platform at this particular moment. If youโre a journalist and want to chat, Iโm happy to talk.
Great story! Give the boy a medal.
When I was 13, I had a similar break in, but instead of a gun I had a bow and arrow. The guy ran away before I could fire a shot, but that's the fastest I ever strung a bow in my life.
A 13-year-old boy was home alone in Ladson, South Carolina, when he heard a commotion near the back of the house.
When he looked outside, he saw someone trying to break in.
According to an arrest affidavit, the boy feared for his safety and grabbed his motherโs handgun. He fired through the door, and the intruder reportedly fired back.
Two men then fled in a grey Chevrolet Sonic. The boy continued firing as the vehicle drove away, leaving it riddled with bullet holes.
The wounded man was identified as 31-year-old Lamar Anthwan Brown. He had been sh0t three times. The driver, 28-year-old Ira Bennett, took him to Trident Medical Center, where Brown was pronounced dead.
Authorities said Brown had a criminal record that included six felony drug convictions and a weapons offence.
Bennett was arrested and charged with first-degree burglary and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. A judge later denied him bond.
The boyโs mother said she had purchased the handgun for protection but had never taught her son how to use it. She explained that she always told her children to call 911 if something happened, while also telling them to protect themselves if necessary.
A neighbour said he heard several gunsh0ts before seeing a car slowly leaving the property.
After investigating, the Charleston County Sheriffโs Office determined that the boy had acted in lawful self-defence. No charges were filed against him.
Although neighbours praised his actions, the experience left the family shaken and fearful in their own home.
A 13-year-old should never have to face a situation like this alone. Thankfully, he survived the terrifying encounter, but the emotional impact of what happened may stay with him for a long time.
Well said

It's as if my electronic wind instrument could stop me from playing along Miles Davis or John Coltrane solos while I'm (painfully) trying to learn from them.
Anthropic is insane and insufferably moralizing.
But we already knew that.
This is the best way to destroy ones enemies. That's why I favor strong government surveillance and intelligence services.

The sad thing is this is obvious but people have no clue. They've been turned into NPCs.
And now we understand the absolutely rabid obsession with destroying Pete Hegseth.
Iโve been in the Army since before 9/11. Served under many secretaries.
Only in the past 18 months have I experienced:
>politicians warning me not to follow illegal orders
>billboards outside military bases telling me to report war crimes
>the media attacking anyone who has a positive thing to say about the man, and defending anyone who hates him
>stunning volume of leaks from senior officials trying to undermine him, and the lionizing of the leakers by the press
>being called a war criminal myself, hundreds of times a day
>a sustained media narrative portraying virtually every firing or senior officer removal as a โpurgeโ
>public efforts by retired officers, advocacy groups, and political figures to mobilize service members and military communities against administration policies
>influential โAmericansโ publicly cheering for Iran
This is just to name a few. Iโve NEVER experienced anything like this before. And itโs becoming abundantly clear that the concerted effort to divide the military from within was stunted when Hegseth took over. Anyone desiring color revolution needs control of the military. Thatโs color revolution 101.
Is it starting to make sense yet? Now you see the obsession over him in particular. Itโs not a coincidence. And it damn sure isnโt because of his culture war.
Itโs because by all objective metrics, he runs a military that snatches rogue leaders from their beds, destroys entire militaries, and successfully mobilizes assets to save one downed pilot in the middle of enemy territory by building an Air Force baseโฆ in the middle of enemy territory. Secures the border, dominates the hemisphere. Hunts drug cartels. The list goes on.
He is by all meaningful accounts, effective at wielding the machine. And that is why they drool at the thought of removing him.
In years past youโd be hard pressed to find a junior Soldier who knew the name of the cabinet secretary above them.
Every one of them knows Pete Hegseth.
Every one.
I have to say having North Korea around makes things more interesting. Otherwise it might be boring!
