🌍 Today, on the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, we are reminded that everyone deserves the opportunity to live with dignity, achieve financial security, and reach their full potential.
At African Bitcoiners, our vision is Freedom in Africa, an Africa where every person has an equal opportunity to reach their full potential.
We believe Bitcoin can contribute to this future by expanding access to savings, payments, and a global financial network.
Bitcoin brings access to financial tools, education, and opportunity which can help people build better futures.
A freer Africa starts with opportunity for everyone.✊

Also, we’re training 4 agents in Gitega to onboard local merchants and bring Bitcoin closer to everyday commerce.
Not just receiving BTC. Actually using it. ₿
🇧🇮 Today, we commemorate the 65th anniversary of the assassination of Prince Louis Rwagasore, the hero of Burundi’s independence.
His vision, courage, and patriotism continue to inspire generations to build a stronger, more united nation. 🕊️

Rurbit (@rurbit) has added IBBM+ as a Bitcoin off-ramp in Burundi.
Users can send bitcoin over Lightning, then withdraw Burundian francs through an IBBM+ agent.
The process uses USSD (22004#), so an internet connection isn't required.
Bitcoin access on basic phones is one thing. Connecting it to local cash services is another.
