📢 United Russia's Landslide Victory Is a Message to the West Why #UnitedRussia got more votes than before the full-scale invasion? A source close to the #Kremlin told Verstka that the show of support for Vladimir #Putin's course and his party was aimed less at a domestic audience than at a foreign one: officials there believe it was important to signal the West that pressure on Moscow based on the idea that Russian society is tired of the war will not work. Russia Is Down to Just Two Regional Capitals with Direct Mayoral Elections #Khabarovsk, the largest of Russia’s remaining regional capitals with direct mayoral elections, has abolished the system. Under a new city charter adopted by the local legislature, the mayor will now be elected by city deputies following a nomination by the regional governor. The change follows the requirements of Russia’s #MunicipalReform. Only two regional capitals will now have directly elected mayors: ✅ Abakan, the capital of #Khakassia ✅ Anadyr, the capital of #Chukotka Mayors of both cities were elected in 2024 and represent #UnitedRussia. Their terms expire in 2029. If the current system remains unchanged, Russia could then have no directly elected mayors of regional capitals at all. #LocalGovernment #RussianPolitics #RussianElections

Omsk Yabloko Leader Faces Hate-Speech Case Over a Social Media Comment from 2011 The prosecutor’s office in Russia’s #Omsk region has opened an administrative case against Tatyana Schneider, head of the local #Yabloko branch, over an alleged “incitement to hatred” comment posted on social media in 2011. Schneider denies writing the comment and says her social media account has been repeatedly hacked over several years. Schneider has led Omsk Yabloko since 2023. In 2026, she was included among the top seven candidates on Yabloko’s federal list for the #StateDuma elections. The case adds to the pressure facing Yabloko, whose members, candidates and regional branches have faced legal challenges during and after the 2026 election cycle. #PoliticalRepression #RussianPolitics
Post-Election Crackdown on Yabloko Continues: 4 Years Sentence for 3,500 Rubles Elena Perepelitsa, a 60-year-old member of Russia’s #Yabloko party, has been sentenced to four years in a penal colony for making seven donations of 500 rubles each to Alexei #Navalny’s Anti-Corruption Foundation (#FBK), totalling just 3,500 rubles (around €35–40). Perepelitsa partially admitted guilt, acknowledging the transfers but rejecting the accusation that she had financed “extremist activities”. She had been a Yabloko member since 2017 and had also served on Moscow election commissions. In her final statement, Perepelitsa said she had always advocated the “evolutionary development of the state through education and the humanization of society”. 🗣️ “I like making the world around me better without destroying it. 🤯 134 of 136 Polling Stations in Stavropol Reported Identical Party Results The analytical project Elections Atlas has identified signs of electoral fraud in #Stavropol region during 2026 #StateDuma elections, highlighting an unusual pattern in the results from the regional capital, Stavropol. Researchers point to so-called “shelves” — flat lines in graphs showing polling-station results, where multiple stations report identical vote shares for major political parties. In Stavropol, 134 of 136 polling stations reportedly produced the same pattern. Not only turnout and #UnitedRussia’s results matched, but the results of the other parties followed an identical sequence: #LDPR: 10% #NewPeople: 9% #CPRF: 6% #JustRussia: 3% ➡️ The reported anomalies come amid exceptionally high official figures for the region. Turnout in Stavropol region reached 81.5%, 21.7 percentage points above the national average, according to the report. United Russia won all 25 single-member constituencies and reportedly lost at only three polling stations across the entire region. 📊 Full analysis (in Russian): atlas.vyborov.org/articles/1… #RussianElections #Elections2026 #ElectionFraud #UnitedRussia #RussianPolitics
Leningrad Region Helped Push Just Russia Over the 5% Threshold — Electoral Analyst The #Leningrad region, a major region surrounding #StPetersburg and bordering Finland and Estonia, was among the areas where electoral analyst @ishukshin identified mass-scale fraud in Russia’s 2026 #StateDuma elections. According to Shukshin’s analysis, official results in some districts showed the #CPRF receiving less than 1%, while #JustRussia received as much as 21.9%. One of the key examples is Tosno district, which Shukshin argues was among the areas where votes were “rewritten” to help Just Russia cross the federal 5% threshold. 🗣️ “It took [the CEC] nine days to draw [the turnout] ‘with a ruler’”, Shukshin wrote, calling on the CPRF to demand video recordings from polling stations where turnout and party results were allegedly 'drawn'. CPRF Announces Legal Challenge to State Duma Election Results Communist Party leader Gennady Zyuganov has announced that the #CPRF will seek legal reviews of alleged election violations and “fight for every vote” following the September 2026 #StateDuma elections. In a statement on his Telegram channel, Zyuganov said the party had begun comparing voting results across different districts and identified sharp discrepancies. 🗣️ “In some districts, 30–35% vote for the CPRF, while in neighbouring districts its result is reduced to zero”, he said. Zyuganov added that the party’s lawyers were “finalizing the preparation of lawsuits”, but provided no further details about the planned legal challenges. The announcement signals a more confrontational response from the party leadership after several regional CPRF branches independently challenged election results. CPRF Divided After Election Loss: Regional Branches Reject Results as Repression Continues After losing 20 seats in the #StateDuma elections 2026, #CPRF plans to recruit around 15,000 new members. Meanwhile, several regional branches have rejected or challenged election results, even as the party’s federal leadership has stopped short of a nationwide declaration of non-recognition. 🫂 Party leadership turns to recruitment The CPRF’s Central Committee plenum, scheduled for November 13–14, is expected to review the election campaign and discuss expanding the party’s membership. The party currently has around 150,000 members, and its leadership is reportedly targeting an additional 15,000. Proposed recruitment channels include social media, the Leninist Young Communist League, student communities, and personal referrals by existing members. Vladimir Kashin has suggested that each party member recruit at least one or two people, while Yuri Afonin has highlighted young people as a priority. 📌 Regional branches challenge the results In several regions, CPRF branches have disputed the announced results, citing alleged falsification, remote electronic voting (#REV) anomalies, restricted access to video surveillance, and the exclusion of observers. Among the most notable cases: 🔴 #Buryatia: The regional CPRF committee rejected the republic’s results, calling them falsified. 🔴 #Novgorod Region: The regional committee refused to recognize the results, citing REV anomalies and problems accessing video surveillance. 🔴 #MoscowRegion: The party challenged results in several municipalities, including Lobnya and Lotoshino. 🔴 Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area (#Yugra): A CPRF representative refused to sign the final protocol and submitted a dissenting opinion alleging violations at around 200 polling stations. 🔴 #Kurgan Region: A CPRF election commission member filed a formal dissenting opinion. 🔴 #Voronezh Region: The local branch challenged the counting process at some polling stations, alleging that around 481 observers had been denied access. 🔴 #AltaiRegion and the #Altai Republic: CPRF representatives challenged the gap between results from conventional polling stations and remote electronic voting. The party’s regional committees in #Leningrad and #Tyumen regions also publicly questioned the legitimacy of results in some areas. 🚨 Repression continues Meanwhile, pressure on communist activists continues. On October 14, #FSB officers in Leningrad Region searched the home of Angela Donskaya, secretary of the CPRF’s Vyborg district committee. Officers drew up a report and seized her phone. Donskaya said the search concerned alleged distribution of materials discrediting the Russian army and suggested it was linked to her public activities and personal views. Her party colleagues say, however, that she has been actively collecting and delivering humanitarian aid to Russian servicemen fighting against Ukraine. The CPRF has called for the repression to stop. #RussianElections #PoliticalRepression #RussianPolitics

🚨 Post-Election Repression: Former Murmansk CPRF Leader Sent to Pre-Trial Detention Gennady Stepakhno, former leader of the #CPRF faction in the #Murmansk Regional Duma and a veteran regional politician, has been placed in pre-trial detention following his arrest by security forces. He served four consecutive convocations in the Murmansk Regional Duma as the primary face of the regional CPRF before losing his seat in the latest election cycle. Stepakhno explicitly opposed extending regional parliamentary elections to three-day voting, publicly criticizing the format as a mechanism for unobservable administrative fraud. Stepakhno was detained on October 9, just three days after his 76th birthday, though local outlets only confirmed his placement in pre-trial detention several days later. t.me/horizontal_russia/58650 #RussianElections #PoliticalRepression

🌅 Ekaterina Duntsova’s Rassvet Makes a Third Attempt to Register as a Party The #Dawn party @Rassvet_Party, led by former Russian presidential candidate @Duntsova2024, has held its third founding congress in an attempt to secure official registration. The first congress took place on May 1–2, 2024, bringing together delegates from 50 regions. The Justice Ministry refused to register the party in November 2024. A second congress was held in September 2025, but registration was refused again in April 2026, with the authorities citing formal issues with the documents and procedures. At the latest congress, Duntsova said the participants had repeated three simple words together: “Peace”, “Dawn”, and “Russia” — values she described as indispensable. Speaking to journalists, she promised that Rassvet would continue working despite the risk of repression. 🗣️ “There is absolutely nothing safe for us now. We understand that the threat still exists”. She ended her speech with a message of hope: 🗣️ “The night may be long, but it always ends. Dawn will come”. #Duntsova #Rassvet #RussianPolitics #RussianOpposition
🌅 “Dawn” Returns: Ekaterina Duntsova’s Party Makes Second Attempt at Founding Congress on Sept 20 Dawn party (aka @rassvet_party) — the unregistered political party founded in 2024 by journalist and ex-(unregistered) presidential candidate @Duntsova2024 — will hold its second founding congress on September 20. The party calls for an end to the war, democratic reforms, the release of political prisoners, and decentralization of power. The first founding congress took place on May 1–2, 2024 with 148 delegates from 50 regions of Russia. Soon after, Duntsova was labeled a #foreign_agent. Later, in November, the Ministry of Justice refused to register the party, citing errors in the founding documents and procedures. 👉 Political profile of Duntsova (by REM, ahead of the presidential elections): russian-election-monitor.org… #RussianPolitics #Duntsova #PoliticalRepression #Rassvet

Murmansk Region Spent €17,000 on "Independent International Observers" During Russia’s three-day #elections2026, 28 foreign visitors from 13 countries came to the #Murmansk region as “independent international observers”. According to regional procurement documents examined by local media, the trip cost the regional budget around 1.7 million rubles (€17,000). The visit was officially presented as part of an international youth festival, held from September 17 to 22. The budget covered accommodation and an excursion programme, including visits to the Public Election Observation Centre, territorial election commissions and a local polling station. Each of these election-related “excursions” was priced at 8,500 rubles (about €85). Local reporting noted a curious discrepancy: regional media initially described the visitors as international election observers, but subsequent coverage referred to them as participants in a youth festival. The official festival framing also meant that the election-related purpose of the trip was not immediately apparent from the public announcements. “International observers” were spotted in many Russian regions, e.g. #Bashkortostan, #NizhnyNovgorod #Rostov, #Moscow, #Tyumen, etc. Russian politician and ex-political prisoner Andrey Pivovarov identified, among others, several observers from Austria and Germany (ru.themoscowtimes.com/2026/0…). @EPDE_org has also identified 36 individuals, primarily from the Global South, involved as fake election observers during Russia’s 2026 State Duma elections (epde.org/?news=manufactured-…) in the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories of Crimea, Sevastopol, and parts of Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions. #RussianElections #Elections2026 #ElectionObservation #FakeObservers Sources: 1. t.me/AoMurmansk/38415 2. ru.thebarentsobserver.com/no… 3. tv21.ru/news/2026/09/17/gost…

👴🏻 The Oldest Parliament in Modern Russian History: State Duma Turn to Gerontocracy The 9th #StateDuma is the oldest in Russian history. The average age of its deputies is 54.3 years, compared with 45.8 in the first Duma in 1994. The median age has risen from 45.3 to 54.2 years. Nearly one in three deputies is over 60, while 49 are already over 70. Ten years ago, there were just 19 deputies over 70. At the same time, the number of younger MPs has fallen sharply: deputies under 40 now number just 51, compared with 127 in the first Duma. Among adult Russians, people under 40 make up 35.1%, but only 11.3% of State Duma deputies. By faction: 🟥 #CPRF — average age 61.5 🟨 #JustRussia — 59.1 🐻 #UnitedRussia — 54.1 🟪 #NewPeople — the youngest faction, with an average age of 42. #RussianPolitics #StateDuma #Duma2026 #RussianElections

Moscow Region: Turnout and United Russia’s Result Were Significantly Inflated #MoscowRegion, Russia’s second-largest region by electorate, with around 6.2 million voters, or approximately 5.5% of the country’s electorate, was one of the main centres of electoral falsification in the #StateDuma #elections2026, according to electoral analyst @ishukshin. According to Sukshin's analysis, both turnout and #UnitedRussia’s result were inflated. 📈 Turnout was almost doubled. At some polling stations, including in Mytishchi, Shukshin estimates that turnout was inflated threefold. He also identifies conspicuous peaks around round figures such as 45%, 49%, 50%, 55% and especially 60% (fig. 1). 🐻 United Russia’s result was repeatedly “drawn” around 60%. Instead of the expected bell-shaped distribution, Shukshin’s statistical test produces a distinctive “hedgehog” pattern, with major peaks at 60%, 55%, 58.6%, 57%, 56.4%, 64% and 65%. Other parties also show suspiciously concentrated results: the #CPRF peaks at 13.86%, while #JustRussia peaks at 5.0% (fig. 2). Perhaps most revealingly, at polling stations with active independent election commission members, United Russia falls to third place, with results of around 25–35%. 🔎 Full analysis by Ivan Shukshin (in Russian): ishukshin.ru/articles/mosobl… #RussianElections #Duma2026 #ElectionFraud #RussianPolitics

❗️Yesterday Was 20 Years Since Anna Politkovskaya Was Murdered Journalist Anna Politkovskaya was murdered 20 years ago today, on October 7, 2006, in the entrance hall of her apartment building in Moscow. The date was also Vladimir #Putin’s birthday and came shortly after the birthday of Ramzan #Kadyrov. In 2014, a Moscow court convicted five people in the murder case. Rustam Makhmudov, identified as the gunman, and Lom-Ali Gaitukayev, who organized the crime, received life sentences. Former police officer Sergei Khadzhikurbanov received 20 years, while Dzhabrail and Ibragim Makhmudov received 14 and 12 years respectively. But the person or people who commissioned and financed the killing have never been identified or brought to trial. The investigation formally remained open, according to the European Court of Human Rights. Politkovskaya, who worked for Novaya Gazeta, was known for her investigations into human-rights abuses and the war in #Chechnya. Her murder remains one of the most prominent unresolved assassinations of a Russian journalist. #AnnaPolitkovskaya #NovayaGazeta #RussianPolitics #PressFreedom

🧮 2026 Duma Election Results Were Drawn with a Calculator Electoral analyst @ishukshin continues to publish empirical evidence demonstrating that the #StateDuma #elections2026 represent a massive electoral fraud. 📌 Key Findings: 🧮 Calculator-Driven Fraud: Forensic statistical analysis of precinct (PEC) protocols reveals massive, artificial clustering at clean, round percentage figures instead of a natural distribution. Fraudsters most frequently targeted an 85% turnout figure, alongside major abnormal "spikes" at 63%, 65%, 70%, 72%, 78%, and 81%. 📈 Tied Turnout & United Russia Anomalies: Official vote shares for the ruling party scale proportionally with artificially inflated turnout. Polling stations reporting "calculator-generated" turnout numbers (70%, 80%, or 90%) yield equally manufactured, mathematically generated shares for #UnitedRussia — most frequently pegged at 65%. ⚖️ Residual Balancing for Parliamentary Parties: To ensure precinct totals neatly equaled 100%, remaining vote shares were mechanically assigned to systemic proxy parties as fixed residual values. The #CPRF was assigned artificial targets around 15%, 19%, and 20%, while #JustRussia was precision-engineered to hit exactly 5% to drag them over the legal threshold (see graph). 🗣️ "The falsification of election results is visible to the naked eye, making this possibly the most massive [electoral] crime in Russian history", Shukshin concludes.
