I thought explaining JobMate would get easier as we built more of it. Now there’s more to explain 😂 Still working on being able to tell someone what we do without giving them a tour of every feature.

In the last 5 days, JobMate sent 2,000 applications, 500 referral requests and 100 LinkedIn messages across our users. While they slept. Without lifting a finger. Otto finds the roles, tailors the documents and handles outreach. Try Otto. Link in the first reply.

Every single day of bootstrapping a business makes me wonder where my investors at

The difficult thing about building is deciding what can wait. There’s always another bug, another screen, another idea. I’m trying to get better at asking which one actually matters to the person using this. Otherwise I can stay busy for days.

A Deloitte offer. A new role at Persistent. Both these folks credit JobMate with automating their job search. Most days, I think about what still needs fixing. Seeing posts like these feels pretty good. Try it out - joinjobmate.com

Building JobMate keeps reminding me how much finding the right team matters. One day we’re fixing applications. The next, we’re figuring out how to get people to try it. There are so many steps between an idea and something useful. I wouldn’t want to figure them all out alone.

We made onboarding easier. People still weren’t sticking around. I’d been focused on getting them into the product. But if someone signs up for help applying to jobs and no application goes out, a smoother signup doesn’t give them much reason to return.

Another day in the life of: Founder edition. It’s always a constant battle between sales and product isn’t it? It’s either - 1. My product isn’t good enough to be shown to users OR 2. We’ve built a once in a lifetime kind of a product BUT where are my users who know how to use it 😂 There’s no in between. I don’t make the rules And then when users finally come, you keep fire fighting and fixing bugs in production 🤦‍♂️

Oh boy Claude 3.7 Cursor These seem like tools of the past. And to think this was not even 2 years back I now get it why musk or gates say work will be optional in the future That’s because these AI tools will be so cheap and powerful that THERE WONT BE WORK LEFT FOR HUMANS

What people won't tell you when they romanticize building a startup? As a 28 y/o with a full-time job and a lot on the line, it's a constant battle to prioritise doing the right thing - you don't want to tarnish your reputation at work, so you still have to deliver there consistently, but at the same time ensure you are doing justice to your product and able to market it enough so that people start noticing it Weekends are the only real time you get, and even then, only if you're lucky. But you keep pushing every day, even if it's only a little. Then one day, maybe after months or even years of effort, you get some validation. Some proof that users are liking it. For us, one such day was over this weekend - we crossed 1k followers on LinkedIn on our Jobmate page. Long way to go still, but I guess we're doing something right

Telegram >> Whatsapp As much as I used to think Telegram was only for shady purposes, the more I'm diving into product development, the more I'm realising that tools that allow easier connectivity with other tools hold a different level of respect in developers' eyes That said, Telegram connection is now live on Jobmate. You can receive job alerts, updates, and reminders on Telegram Try it today. link in comments

Meet Otto - your job search autopilot Takes 5 minutes to set up. Then forget about your job search Otto handles tailoring your resume for each role, analyses your fitment to a role, then decides whether to apply direct or via referral - it even reaches out and follows up

Building in public - Day 2 The more I work on OTTO, the more I think the real problem is decision fatigue. Apply direct or ask for a referral? Follow up again or leave it? A lot happens before someone even hits Apply.

I've spent 2 years mentoring applicants for Founder's Office and Chief of Staff roles. After ~100 conversations, the same questions kept coming up. We turned those questions into JobMate. Now, meet OTTO. Which roles actually fit me? Should I add keywords or explain my work better? Apply directly or ask for a referral? Who do I message? When do I follow up? The job hunt starts feeling like a hundred decisions before you even hit Apply. That's what I wanted to fix. JobMate matches roles to your experience and preferences, then helps build applications around what you've actually done. OTTO finds relevant roles and prepares tailored applications from your profile. My mental model: Dijkstra's algorithm for the job hunt. Find a better route through the noise. With Autopilot on, OTTO moves supported applications forward and pauses when it needs you. Fewer tabs. Fewer decisions. More time for the conversations that matter. Those mentoring conversations shaped what we built. Now I want to hear from people using it. Try OTTO - Link in comments - What's the decision you get stuck on most: job fit, applications, referrals, or follow-ups?
