My commitment is to get a line between OKC and Tulsa and ensure it has a Love's travel stop as the anchor tenant at each station.
China opens four new high-speed rail lines in the same day today. The world's largest HSR network keeps growing bigger. 1. Xiongan <-> Shangqiu: 552 km 2. Yichang <-> Xingshan: 101 km 3. Xi'an <-> Ankang: 171 km 4. Harbin <-> Yichun: 318 km

This is the future, and it’s going to be very good for cities Multimodal and autonomous means you’ll have at least 3 options to get to work, and each could get you there in half the time It used to be so depressing to come back from China trips and see the only option for Americans being old gas cars and traffic, and then the urban wastelands / sprawl that created We deserve more human centered urban environments Time to build this fast
Even Elon wants the next generation of trains. rn - China is only one publicly working on it. Their stated objective is to have their (4th gen trains) be competitive with commercial aircraft. @elonmusk calls it hyperloop - China calls it next gen mag-lev. Whatever you want to call it - it's the next revolution in transportation (high scale high speed). Absolute requirement for next civilizational jump. BTW - the USG started mapping this in the late 60s - 70s.

I'm writing a short story about how we do this so effectively it causes the next ice age.
this is why all the climate doomers will be wrong. we will be able to engineer our way out of a lot of our climate problems > Rainmaker just became the first company to prove it had created extra rain and snow in Alaska > in just three hours, they produced ~19M gallons of water, enough to supply 150 American households for an entire year, with just two drones!! > the drones find clouds already holding water and help that water fall as rain or snow > covering Utah’s entire 7,500-square-mile Bear River Basin will take 36 drones working in relays, and the same model can be repeated across the mountain ranges feeding the Colorado River > the extra snow melts into streams and reservoirs, supplying farms, cities and hydropower through the dry months > Rainmaker’s goal is to stop the Great Salt Lake from shrinking by 2030 and double the Colorado River’s flow by 2031 > now imagine this at full scale... they'll basically turn the sky itself into a tool for fighting drought, empty reservoirs, shrinking glaciers, damaged ecosystems, and wildfire risk

On one of his posts surrounding upcoming elections, I asked our Mayor on LinkedIn to explain his thesis on why he voted 'yes' on approving the Flock surveillance contract extension. They deleted my comment. Inexcusable.

I helped pass this law in 2020. It's purpose is to prevent drug traffickers, Russian & Chinese kleptocrats, and other international criminals from setting up anonymously owned companies to hide their money in the US. Trump's Treasury Dept. is doing this to help criminals. 1/
Today, @FinCENnews issued a final rule that permanently removes the requirement for U.S. companies and U.S. persons to report beneficial ownership information. FinCEN today also announced that it will delete previously reported information by U.S. persons from the beneficial ownership information database.

This is absolutely insane. The free internet is dead if a state court can pull a website offline worldwide simply because the registry for its domain is based in the United States. That puts the world’s access to information at the mercy of state lawmakers and judges—in this case, in Texas. Should Texas get to dictate what content the whole world can access on the open internet? Of course not. And I assume Texans would say the same if Russia, China, or even Australia claimed the same authority.
A Travis County judge just froze a web domain worldwide. Not by blocking it in Texas, but by ordering Verisign to lock the .com domain itself so it resolves for no one on earth until a foreign company posts a $9.14 million bond and builds Texas-mandated digital ID check. That's a single state court with a global kill switch. AG Paxton calls it a "huge precedent." He’s right.

The US is run by an organised crime syndicate that is destroying the evidence of their crimes
The Trump administration just made it official: it's demolishing the US's shell company registry, and destroying all of the data it already collected. A disaster for US anti-corruption efforts.

As of today, Friday August 7th, the OKC Streetcar is permanently free to ride. This morning, the Central Oklahoma Transportation and Parking Authority (COTPA) voted to remove any and all charges from the streetcar system, effective immediately. COTPA ran a free fare pilot program for the streetcar from January 5th until July 5th and then extended it for another 45 days. During the course of this test, the streetcar saw an average 74% increase in ridership. Based on this, the oversight board voted today to establish a permanent zero fare service. The OKC Streetcar is a 4.8-mile service paid for by the MAPS 3 initiative. Service commenced in December of 2018.

What a nightmare. By implementing the tariffs illegally, and now having to unwind them, the Trump administration created over $100 billion of profit for corporations selling foreign products, at the expense of American consumers. Your refund: $0.00 Apple’s profit: $2.2 billion

Congress is not serious. We are voting on a stock trading ban for members of Congress… BUT Republicans added voter-ID in the legislation. Not to get Dems to vote for voter-ID, but to get them to vote against the stock trading ban, so they can use it in the Nov. election.
