my personal prediction for valko is december, maaaaybe late november atp btw. early on i predicted that if they didn’t get him out before they had to release a multi it would probably delay him as they’ll have to redo his first few cards to rework the early timeline and i think that’s where we’re at. i expect sylus’s branch and possibly a whole nother multi before he releases now.
rumors point to the anni multi being an AU which doesn’t affect canon timeline so that gives them from september when he had to be delayed until the feb multi to rework his rollout. i wouldn’t think they’d risk losing revenue on the anniversary/annual packs by delaying him more than that but 🤷♀️ who knows.
i’m mature enough to admit that delaying valko’s launch to address what actual legitimate concerns people had when he was announced was not the worst move ppg could have made in june. i’m not among the players who were that desperate for updates to base story content but i can acknowledge it’s not an unreasonable request and it had been requested for a LONG time.
so i’m asking antis now, are you really so stubborn that you can’t possibly put yourself in someone else shoes and understand why valko was and is a much anticipated release? when valko is released (yes when not if), you can’t grow up just a little bit and accept that players who want valko deserve to get what they want just as much as you do? that we’ve also spent a lot of time and money on the game and also want it to continue and succeed? is the only way for you to be happy to exclude others?
that’s what i don’t get. you can block and mute and ignore just like the rest of us. why does it have to be us or them, all or nothing?

The problem is that the "radicals" are not part of the boycott movement. They've been working on a different agenda since the beginning, which they've also been repeatedly caught confirming themselves, both in text and in livestreams.
If there were genuine radicals (and not just naive, emotionally volatile people who have been taken in by people acting maliciously who aren't a part of our community), I'd still be against them, because they're actively harming the actual work we've been doing in the name of feeling like revolutionaries over a video game.
Solidarity doesn't mean putting up with bad behaviour, especially the kind that is not aligned in any way with our goals as a movement or my own personal goals for being here as an individual.
We're not fighting amongst ourselves, we're making sure that the people who are here to intentionally spread misery are not able to do so.
There's a reason that the misery spreading is always coming from the same people: login and survey purity testing, spreading the "leaks" and "datamined material" for months even when the quickest glance gives away that they're AI and edits rather than any real material, repeatedly trying to sell misinformation about every topic they think they can use to manipulate people into joining their shitty little campaign.
I don't actually care how much hand-wringing happens about "in-fighting". I care about the repeated excuses being made in the name of "solidarity" to let these people continue what they're doing.
It's not a difference of approach or opinion when the vast, overwhelming majority of us works one way, and another group uses lies and manipulation to try and convince people to join them. I've personally watched it happen and done my best to counter their misinformation since they started ramping up in August, and we're not gonna start rewriting history here.
If this were only a difference of approach, they wouldn't need to lie to get people to join them. They wouldn't be spending their time sharing stories they invented in their entirety that constitute actual legal slander against the company and its founder. They wouldn't VPN into the USA and use discount twitter bots to try and present that there are "real American fans" unhappy with the company.
I'm gonna put this very simply, here at the end: I'm not calling them wolf-mask antis because I disagree with their approach. I call them wolf-mask antis because they are a group of people who are hiding behind Valko pfps while making the same moves, having the same goals, and being driven by the same instigators as the people who pushed CDG into their actions in June. They are antis, end of story.

The boycott movement doesn't need ideological purity. It needs solidarity.
I'm genuinely tired of seeing the constant infighting between moderates and radicals. We don't have to agree on every approach or tactic, but disagreeing with someone doesn't automatically make them an anti.
We all have different ways of expressing our frustration, and that's okay. Criticise harmful behaviour if you must, but stop turning fellow Valkyries into enemies simply bcs they don't protest the way you do.
We've spent 4 months fighting for Valko, only to start fighting among ourselves. For what? That is such a waste of energy.
The boycott was never about proving who's the better Valkyrie. It was about bringing Valko back. We don't have to stand in the same way to stand for the same thing.

No, he doesn't care for it, and those who actually pay attention to the LIs beyond their appearances know that.
That isn't to say he isn't fit; he is. He's got a swimmer's bod for obvious reasons I don't feel the need to explain.
But dude complains in almost every card of his that involves exercise, not to mention workout QTs. He does not like to do it. I've seen screenshots of the current event, and over the past two days, he's been forced to exercise and has complained both times.
He does it anyway because he knows exercise is good for you, but you can still get the benefits even if you don't like it. Not everyone likes dieting, but they do it anyway for the benefits.
I swear, some people just wanna feel attacked for the sake of the argument. Please go get your dopamine hit elsewhere. This constant need to fight isn't good for anyone's mental health.

i have seen this scenario play out sooo many times on ladstwt: someone makes some bad faith criticism taking LI A’s content out of context to make it sound “problematic” or bad. ppl who see through that make a sarcastic or unserious post taking LI B’s content out of context the same way to make a point. LI B’s mains are now all mad and defensive even though absolutely no one was actually sincerely attacking them AND they think that defensiveness entitles them to act like absolute ghouls to other human beings over a fictional video game character.
i am on my knees begging this fandom to fucking learn what nuance (and sarcasm!) are.
you know i used to think “well maybe if the point was argued without sarcasm that would solve this!” like instead of using a slightly combative tone we say “you keep accusing LI A of something bad by taking this card out of context, what if someone did that to your main, LI B, with xyz card, which they could easily do? you wouldn’t find that fair, right?” like perhaps that could convey this point without the silly defensiveness. but now i’m not convinced that would work. too many ppl in this fandom are either too dumb or want to pretend to be too dumb for any of this to ever be that productive.
and honestly tbh at the end of the day it doesn’t fucking matter if some random stranger online thinks blorbo is Bad Actually. this is fandom, not a court of law. no one is arresting blorbo for fictional crimes. but when a character was literally cancelled and the whole game put at risk over this petty bullshit i really hoped it could at least be a wake up moment for some people. this bad faith moral panic nonsense is bad for all of us. grow up. fiction can’t hurt you. ignore what you don’t like. let people enjoy things. stop begging for censorship, jesus.

Accountability isn’t always fire and brimstone anger and retribution. Accountability can acknowledge the nuance. People can be so used to nuance being used as a scapegoat for bad actions that they really have lost the ability to use it properly. And the ability to hold complex emotions at the same time.
And the thing is, when something is done by an entity that’s not one specific individual you will *never* feel fully satisfied with the result. Especially when the wrongdoing isn’t illegal or morally wrong. What Infold has done is shitty, bad business and bad for building trust etc. but really at the end of the day they broke a promise and did not deliver on their product.
They lost a lot of money because of it. That’s all you can do and that’s the extent that your power goes. You have to learn accountability and satisfaction are also not the same thing. A corporation can be held accountable and it still feel unsatisfying because accountability doesn’t erase anything. YOU have to learn how to process that anger grief and disappointment outside of trying to hold on and punish them.
Let them go and leave, or stick around and build. Those are your healthy options. (There’s probably more but you get what I mean). You can leave mad. You can leave BECAUSE you’re mad. But you cannot force the hands of other people especially when what they’re doing is shitty but not morally wrong. Sorry.
My biggest hot take is actually this: after all of this time, regarding Valko cancellation and even this prolonged silence I am no longer mad at PPG.
I am disappointed and sad and tired but that’s about it. I actually haven’t been angry for a very long time. I think really putting my emotions aside and thinking about it from the perspective that PaperGames IS a corporation just made my emotions kind of… vanish?
I am not saying anyone else should agree with me, nor do I blame anyone for being angry. I suppose this is just how I ended up coping with it.
And because I have zero doubts about his comeback, I always tried to look at it from a different perspective. They can’t address us, even with a simple “We hear you”, before they are 1000% ready to relaunch Valko, because it risks another smear campaign, government reports and employees safety issues.
And they won’t get another do-over. While Valkos relaunch will likely never be perfect, it has to be safe. For the company, for the game, for Valko and for the employees.
And even with his cancellation, I have always felt like they were forced in a corner in which they were not ready to be forced into, and they panic pulled the plug.
Now it doesn’t mean they can walk away from this without any consequence - but the revenue, or lack of it IS a consequence.
And we do deserve a proper apology and communication. But I also understand why that isn’t happening.
We do deserve better. But so did they. Both things can be true, and saying that doesn’t mean they are innocent in all of this, or that they handled, and continue to handle, things perfectly.
I hate that acknowledging nuance is becoming labeled as excusing PaperGames. It is not. This situation is not black and white.
So I don’t hate this corporation. I am not mad at this company.
I am sad we ended up here, disappointed in how things played out and were handled and tired from having to defend them because people refuse to see nuance and humanise the company by making it seem like they are personally hurting the players.
It is a business. One that faces unfair competition, smears and attacks constantly.
I want them to do better. I want to be able to come back to the game and support it when Valko is back.
I wouldn’t be able to feel that way if I hated them or was angry with them.
But I am a human. And I have more emotions than anger and hatred and devotion and love. I think it’s important to acknowledge that.
But I understand this may be disappointing to some.

This still baffles me. Am I the only one who doesn't care abt which LI is the focus of the MS/Branch as long as it's updated?
I love Sylus & Xavier, but I dgaf if they're not the focus as long as we get a proper story update. Why?
I actually care abt the overall storyline, not just the portions involving my faves. Plus, I've never personally had issues waiting for my LI updates bc I have other games & RL to deal with 🤷🏼♀️
Clearly, that doesn't seem to be the case with most lads players which is unfortunate.
Regardless, no reason justifies canceling a finished product. Although Valko's addition wouldn't have fixed certain issues in the game, he would have provided a NEW MAIN STORY UPDATE, new game content & be useful for farming resources.
Although I disagree with a dead set limit in an otome game, the toxic side of this fandom should have let him debut before pushing for an end to characters bc he was already completed. Why would you want a finished product to go to waste?
I'm crying for their dev & finance depts. Even if his assets get reused for other characters in the future, think abt all the resources that went into his development + additional time & money needed to rework his assets... What a nightmare.
Oh yes. One more thing. Why does this fandom want to gatekeep & limit the game to fit their needs?
Valko clearly has a fanbase (new + existing) but bc he wasn't the type that a portion of the fandom wanted, that portion decided that nobody is allowed to get a new LI that caters to their type 🤦🏼♀️
Let's be real. In the end, his cancellation was mainly fueled by selfishness, not due to actual game issues.
Also, the reality of his cancellation is that it will not benefit infold or the fandom.
You’re acting like the lads does frequent main story updates or branch updates when in fact it already took almost two years for Caleb to have his first ms update, Sylus still has no branch, and each main story update that comes once every six months only has two LIs per update meaning everyone has to wait at least a year for their forward progression, and anecdotes took two years to update.
We won’t even talk about the lack of renewable farming resources, or phone capacities, or choco shop neglect, or content quality where assets are being reused and has not had any update in almost three years from mocaps to home cafe content to even reused kindled animations and more.
Same question, why an otome must have more, when they can barely handle what already exists? What’s your reasoning? Cn otome games all have set number of leads all this time and they’re thriving. Maybe u should just go play jp otome if u want a million love interests, they have those 🤷🏻♀️

One of the most annoying things about the gish gallop of misinfo that certain groups have pushed since the beginning of the boycott is that there are things that are objectively NOT true about PPG but people have heard them so much they have become true.
If someone never re-evaluates what they’ve accepted as fact they will never realize how much of their animosity is built on assumptions that are not factual.
For example: the idea that PPG deleted the bridge slide from instagram & other socials.
This bridge photo was actually never posted anywhere, deliberately. But because people believe that it was deleted & they can’t find it now they get angry, thinking this means he can never come back. That the company is deliberately trying to send a negative message to them.
Another one is the Shaw thing, it’s objectively a completely different situation but people don’t want to look into it so they just accept whatever other people tell them & believe PPG keeps making the same mistakes over & over.
They HAVE made mistakes but these situations are not always exactly the same as some people seem to confidently believe. They should be evaluated individually.
Little things like that on their own are not important but together they form a whole & they add to the worsening reputational damage of the company over time.
I don’t really care if people hate PPG or distrust them. My concern is that believing a lot of skewed mistruths slowly softens people up to easily believe lies. These incorrect assumptions bias people & it stops them from being objective. It’s depressing to see it happen constantly.
