so i just went through a podcast by Lenny on how to grow a product, and one thing stuck with me more than anything else.
to grow a product, discovery comes first, & marketing is secondary.
most of us do it the other way around. we build, then we start pushing out content and hope the right people show up, but content without a specific audience is just noise.
so what is discovery?
it’s going out and showing people what you’re building. before the initial setup, and the launch.
here’s what that gives you:
> you get interest before you invest. if people want it now, you’re building the right thing.
> you learn the state of the market. what people use today, what annoys them, what they’d pay for.
> you find out if your product is worth the hype. better to learn that in week 1 than month 6.
once you know who your audience is and what they care about, then marketing works. every post speaks to someone in your network.
my biggest takeaway was "don’t ask what should i post today?" instead, think about “who have i actually talked to this week?”
me being active on X twice a month just to share things about @solana.
can't wait to see this live
here’s how alpenglow changes the game for solana
> votor takes finality from 12.8 seconds to around 100 to 150ms
> voting moves off chain so tower bft and on chain vote txns are gone
> rotor swaps turbine’s tree for single hop relays so the leader skips the heavy fanout
> reed solomon erasure coding means lost shreds just get rebuilt
> every shred is verified on its own
It’s time.
Alpenglow goes live on mainnet-beta Wednesday, October 21, ~14:50 UTC.
18 months of work for a migration that happens in one slot. Finality drops from seconds to ~150ms.
Make sure to follow us @anza_xyz as we countdown to go-live.

developing on solana is so much better using LiteSVM.

okay so when i started learning solana, everything felt so complicated. state? accounts? functions? my brain couldn't even figure out where to start.
then i realized i was just thinking about it wrong.
wrote this for anyone in the same boat 🧵
