yes, the big fucking saving from earning 5€ an hour, where another person for the same job gets like 20 lmao
Don't listen to Gregor because dutch kids have a big fuking saving when they are 20 years old, that's how they can afford travelling around the globe or begin their own venture. Actually more countries need to learn this.

OH NO, PAYING SOMEONE TO WORK 40H FOR ME WILL COST SOMETHING
An increase to £13.20p/h equates to a minimum wage of £27,456, based on a 40 hour week. Once you factor in employers NI and basic pension contributions, the MINIMUM cost to hire a 21 year old for a company would be £31,461. This is before you factor in any overarching business costs like office space, laptops, phone, software, training, support staff, vehicles etc. This is going to be devastating to SME's who cant put together a simple 12 month budget without the goalposts being moved & their margins squeezed. It'll also be catastrophic to youngsters opportunities because businesses will simply not be able to afford to hire them. What's also incredible is that anything above £50,270 is seen as 'high earnings' in the UK and is taxed at 40%! We are governed by financially and economically illiterate morons. This will not end well.

Oh no, people without a degree earn a living wage, such a bad development!!1! Ffs get a grip! People should do the job they enjoy for a pay they deserve, not be forced to study because manual labour doesn't pay a living wage!
The minimum wage will have increased by over 50% since 2020. There is almost zero incentive now for young people to go to university and attempt to get a more specialised/corporate job in Britain. The pay simply doesn’t justify it. They’re better off working for minimum wage.

somehow the Dutch think it is okay to 1) let 13 year olds work 2) pay them 5€ per hour for the same job they pay a 21yo 17€
Replying to @Gianpattention
I don't like Dutch child labour

I'll never get why the UK thinks minimum wages should depend on age.
🚨 NEW: John Healey will increase the minimum wage for over 21s from £12.71 to around £13.20

UK Greens need a reminder that the whole reason their party and movement exists is to save places like this, not empty lawns on the edge of town in behind some road – at Strahan, Tasmania

Applied in 2023 and withdrew after backlash in 2024, made adjustments and re-submitted in 2025. They built it out of bath stone for you people, nicest Lidl I’ve ever seen😭 If it was an M&S, I’d half expect you lot to pick up a trowel and help them.

Ein sehr guter Tag ist das sogar!
Kein guter Tag. Nach Ungarn haben wir auch Serbien verloren. Es zeigt sich, dass sich die Rechte neu aufstellen muss. Das bisherige Konzept reicht nicht, um zu überzeugen.

As the Serbian people take to the polls in historic numbers, I am deeply concerned by reports that the government is potentially preparing to use violence against citizens aimed at obstructing the voting process. Such attacks are totally unacceptable. I urge Serbia to remain peaceful!
