Stoke Newington Church Street closed in both directions after 7.45am scaffolding collapse from the Stoke Newington Library major building works. It closed in March 2024 for up to two years to repair the roof and fabric of the Grade 2 listed building #StokeNewington #N16incident
Stoke Newington Church St is closed between Edward’s Ln and Albion Rd for traffic & pedestrians due to fallen scaffolding. Police & council teams are on the scene, thankfully no one was injured. Buses are on diversion until further notice. Please avoid the area if possible.

Saw the ‘relaxed’ matinee of Stoppard’s The Real Thing @OldVicTheatre today. It's a clever, witty, multilayered piece that keeps you on your toes - not just a play within a play but a play about TWO plays. Performances were outstanding, not just from the main ensemble (cont’d…)

Thank you to Mayor of Hackney @carowoodley and Deputy Mayor of London for Environment & Energy @metecoban92 for judging the cake competition at the Oldfield Road street party! Your support helped raise funds for @NLAHn16 and @StokeyCatsnDogs.

Thanks to the manager/team leader at @Pret Cavendish Square this afternoon, who kindly donated an unused/unclaimed @TooGoodToGo bag. Three hungry Londoners (on Oxford Street, at Oxford Circus, and at Highbury and Islington) were grateful and enjoyed the soups and macaroni cheese. – at Hackney, London

Enjoyed a brilliant #differentlyvarious @HeadwayELondon workshop at @BarbicanCentre, led by #submittolovestudios artist Chris Miller. In his session “So You Think You Can’t Draw”, Chris explained how brain injury changed how he perceived the world and perceived himself. – at Hackney, London

7 days left of @HeadwayELondon’s takeover of @BarbicanCentre Curve Gallery. Stories of brain injury through workshops, painting, sculpture, tapestry, embroidery, AV. Such great content; pity the exhibition & programme can only run for 9 days. Go before it ends🙏. @WillGompertzBBC

Massive congrats to Tracey Gregory/@RoadSw9 & @BrixtonSociety for getting Nelly Roberts, RHS orchid artist for 56 yrs, the recognition & heritage blue plaque she rightly deserves on her Loughborough Rd home where she lived her entire life, creating 1000s of beautiful paintings.
What a fantastic day. A walk from Loughborough Road from where orchid artist Nelly Roberts once lived to where R I Measures orchid collection in #Camberwell once was. Joined by Measures descendants and Nelly’s family plus neighbours for plaque unveiling. 🙏 everyone who came

FULL. Apparently, they would like all future donations to go to The Arch, 359 Laburnum Street, E2. No more to Clapton for a week, please.

... and please align Hackney’s parking restrictions with neighbouring boroughs like Haringey which suspended restrictions on 26th March! Woke to TWO parking tickets. Our family is self-isolating, not going out as told by the Govt to do! Four of five have the virus in our house.

@sainsburys The "ring-fenced" opening hour for elderly & vulnerable people didn't work in our area. I shared the announcement with the targetted customers in my street & was horrifed to get their feedback afterwards. See this post from a neighbour (click on image to see in full):
