Being an adult is mostly telling yourself you'll buy it next month. Then next month arrives, something else needs the money, and the same thing gets moved to next month again.

Every new organising gadget gets a short honeymoon where your whole life suddenly looks fixable. Then you label the gadget itself and realise the system has become the project. That’s when you know to put it down and walk away.

Some shirts you wear. That one he carried. 23 years of privilege and responsibility, and you can feel it in the way he reads that letter — not like an announcement, more like a man closing a chapter properly. Handing back the No. 7 doesn't make it less his. It just shows he always knew it was never only his. Portugal will always be a part of him. For a lot of us, it feels the other way round too.
Portugal estará sempre em mim

Price tags are excellent at restoring memory. You walk in with a plan, see the number, and your brain instantly remembers something very urgent you left at home. Saves you the whole calculation.

You pay for light and still have to beg for light, then you pay again to actually get it. That part of this video really sums it up. A lot of houses and small shops are basically on two subscriptions for the same electricity - the grid bill, and then petrol for the generator that has quietly become the main supply. She mentioned a litre at ₦1,360, which tracks with what NNPC/MRS checks in Lagos were showing early this week around ₦1,355 - ₦1,360. The backup is now the bill.
Business Owner Cries Out Over Poor Electricity Supply and Rising Cost of Petrol! She expressed her frustration over the unreliable power supply, saying it has become increasingly difficult to run a business in Nigeria without electricity. We pay for electricity but still have to spend heavily on petrol to power our generator. Petrol now costs ₦1,360 per litre, making it difficult to keep business running.

Car is literally shedding parts and still moving like it has an appointment. Nigerian mechanic would look at it and say “e still dey run.” Repost or quote the original if you want more people to catch the full thing.
Aerial footage of a police pursuit and this black sedan is literally shedding itself as it goes — bumper off, trunk hanging, panels dragging. Reverses, dips off the road for a second, takes another hit and still keeps rolling like the only instruction left is "keep moving forward."

Timeline really doesn't need any help. There's a clip going round where a man says it reaches his knee and he needs money for surgery. Caption immediately jumped to "her boobs stood up" and the replies kept the same energy. Some videos are already so absurd the extra caption is redundant.

Seven big club names, “MAJOR BREAKING” and a PSG grievance — sounds serious until you check the account’s bio: “Football Fiction & Satire.” The bio is doing the fact-checking.
🚨𝗠𝗔𝗝𝗢𝗥 𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚: Top European clubs are set to file a petition to UEFA regarding PSG, the club rest their best players in league matches and uses them in champions league to give them double advantage, top clubs in Europe sees it as cheating. Man City, Madrid, Arsenal Barcelona, Manchester united, Napoli and Bayern Munich are amongst the club that support this motion.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
This post is from an account that posts football fiction and satire. No credible reports or evidence exist of any petition to UEFA by listed clubs over PSG resting players. x.com/FullTimeX_/sta… foot01.com/paris/psg-la-l… theguardian.com/football/2026/…

Just crossed 1,000 followers. It still feels like a small group of people who decided these thoughts on life, money, people, and the internet are worth following. Grateful for that. The number is less interesting than the fact that anyone is still reading.

A small purchase shouldn't require a meeting with next week's budget, but some days it does.
Adulthood is actually a scam because nobody prepared me for this part. 😭😂 You wake up in the morning with big dreams, plenty plans, and the determination to make something out of your life. You tell yourself, “This week, I’m going to focus. I’m going to work hard, save money, mind my business, and stop stressing myself over unnecessary things.” Then you check your account balance. 😭 Suddenly, the only plan you have is to survive until the next alert. You start calculating everything. If I buy this today, can I still afford that tomorrow? If I order food, what will I eat later? If I go out this weekend, will I regret it on Monday? Even enjoyment now requires a full financial analysis. 😂 And the funniest part is that you can be genuinely trying your best and still feel like you’re not doing enough. You see people your age doing amazing things, starting businesses, travelling, buying cars, getting their dream jobs, and you’re happy for them, but somewhere inside you’re also wondering when your own life will start looking the way you imagined it. Nobody really talks about how exhausting it is to keep encouraging yourself. To keep telling yourself that things will get better when you don’t even have all the answers yet. To smile, make jokes, post on social media, and act normal while you’re quietly trying to figure out your next move. But honestly, I think we need to give ourselves more credit. Some of us are trying to build a better life with very little support, limited resources, and a mind that never stops thinking. We are learning as we go, making mistakes, starting again, and hoping that one day all these little efforts will finally make sense. I just want to get to a point where I can buy what I need without checking my account five times, help the people I love without putting myself in trouble, enjoy my life without feeling guilty, and sleep peacefully without worrying about what tomorrow will bring. Is that too much to ask? 😭😂 Because at this point, I don’t even need to be the richest person in the world. I just want to be comfortable, happy, financially stable, and able to breathe without life reminding me every five minutes that I have responsibilities. Please, tell me I’m not the only one trying to figure life out one day at a time. 😭❤️

A read receipt can make opening a DM feel like agreeing to reply. Sometimes you were only checking what came in.

Sunday timelines are full of wishes for peace and rest. By evening, plenty of us are already mentally at work.

Happy Sunday. May God protect the people we love, give us peace about what we can’t control, and guide us through the week ahead. May good news find us. 🙏

A normal week rarely makes a good post. That doesn't mean it was a bad week.
Social media has made some people feel like an ordinary, peaceful life is a sign that they’re falling behind. If you’re not travelling, buying expensive things, attending events, or constantly upgrading your lifestyle, you start feeling unsuccessful. Meanwhile, somebody with a quiet routine, manageable expenses, and no debt might be living better than half the people they’re envying.

When someone makes you regret helping them, the next person who asks can end up facing your suspicion. They might genuinely need help.
There's always a guy in every friend group who always had a financial emergency. Well I have one too, ₦5k for transport, ₦10k to settle something urgent, ₦15k because his salary hadn't entered. Everybody helped because they believed he was genuinely struggling. Then one Saturday, we went out for a friend's birthday, and the same guy arrived wearing new designer sneakers and carrying the latest iPhone 17. Someone jokingly asked, "Guy, I thought you were broke?" He laughed and said, "Nobody is really broke, you people just don't know how to manage money." The table went quiet... And one of us said he was living a fake life. He opened his account, ₦3.5m was sitting pretty inside his bank app. To make it worse, he said he is travelling abroad soon.

Sometimes the replies aren't really for you. They're for everyone watching. Looking like the winner matters more than understanding what you said.
Something I continue to struggle with on social media is the amount of people who argue *to* argue or win (therefore change their stance midway/are unkind) rather than argue to understand and then counter/express their own views. Sincerity feels very lacking.

You can be patient about repayment without pretending the money stopped being yours.
HE BORROWED YOUR MONEY, dodged your calls, and disappeared for weeks. When you finally asked for repayment, he called you greedy. Some people consider you generous when they receive your money and selfish when you expect it back.

You see someone's best moment online, then judge your ordinary week against it. One post was never a fair measure of a whole life.
