i'm surprised all mainstream media is not looking at this @nzherald @NZStuff this is clearly one of the most consequential aspect's of this election that two unelected people can choose the government.

It doesn't look like they've done it. So 6 people we know very little about will be the one's deciding if Opportunity go left or right if they are kingmaker. Can Opportunity be made to answer how this is democratic at all?

Opportunity's updated constitution, Rule 11.5: any governing deal "must be approved by a 75% majority vote of the board." Not caucus. Not members. If they're kingmaker on Saturday, their board picks the government. Nobody voted for the board.
They removed the general power to overrule caucus. They retained board approval over coalition and confidence-and-supply agreements.
Open the UPDATED constitution. Page 21. Rule 11.5:
“To take effect, any negotiated governing arrangement must be approved by a 75% majority vote of the board.”
