🇮🇳 Your BANK, your email, practically ANY website could have been impersonated, with your browser none the wiser.
All thanks to one company's INSANE security blunder.
Indian company eMudhra, trusted to certify that websites are genuine, used EIGHT cryptographic keys so ridiculously weak they could be cracked almost instantly.
How weak? A normal key relies on a secret number roughly 116 digits long.
eMudhra's secret numbers? Just 4, 56 and 237. These are NOT pieces of the keys. They were the ACTUAL numbers! 🤯
Anyone with those keys could have forged trusted certificates for virtually any website, potentially fooling your browser if they intercepted your connection.
Major browsers have already blocked the keys, and there's no confirmed malicious use so far.
But cleaning up older devices and software could be a nightmare. An expert warns it could be bigger than Heartbleed, the infamous 2014 security disaster that took years to fix, because millions of old devices and systems still need updating.
And here we are, being told our passwords need another capital letter and a special character.

Delhi’s fight against air pollution needs action at every level, including the government’s own fleet.
I have tried to do my part: moved my personal vehicles to EVs and invested in improving energy efficiency at home and office, including lighting and air-conditioning.
A few practical steps Delhi can take:
Convert every vehicle carrying an anti-smog gun to EV. Using diesel vehicles to operate pollution-control equipment is counterproductive.
Make all MCD garbage collection vehicles, mini-trucks, compactors and large trucks electric, with a defined time-bound transition.
Schools should be pushed to change their school buses to EVs.
Extend this to other government vehicles that operate extensively within Delhi: municipal, maintenance and utility fleets should progressively move to zero-emission vehicles.
Government should lead by example. Vehicles that spend the entire day on Delhi’s roads are the logical place to start.
This will not solve Delhi’s pollution problem alone, but it is measurable, visible and completely within the government’s control.

It is painful to see Atal Park (W Block Park), Greater Kailash-I, named after former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji, in such an abject state of neglect.
The photographs tell the story: the old monument is untended, grass is overgrown, garbage is strewn around, and exercise equipment is rusting and deteriorating. A neighbourhood park meant to serve as a green refuge for residents, senior citizens and children has been allowed to decay.
This is despite repeated representations to the authorities. Residents have even offered to participate in its upkeep through a suitable arrangement under municipal supervision. The local MLA and municipal representatives have also been informed, but no durable solution has followed.
Must residents approach the Court even for the basic maintenance of a public park?
We do not seek another one-time cleaning exercise. We seek a permanent and accountable maintenance system covering horticulture, sanitation, upkeep of the monument and exercise equipment, with responsibility fixed on designated officials.
Hon’ble CM @gupta_rekha, Hon’ble LG @LtGovDelhi @SandhuTaranjitS, Hon’ble MP New Delhi @BansuriSwaraj, and @MCD_Delhi — kindly intervene and ensure that Atal Park, GK-I is restored and thereafter maintained on a continuing basis.

@PetroleumMin I do not have any LPG connection. In fact I use PNG at my home. Still getting SMS that LPG in my name has been authenticated through my Aadhaar. @IOCDelhiIDO does not listen to me. They simply ask me to ignore this message. How is this fraud going on.
Just got another message from IOCMKT-S

Most CROs know how to manage a pipeline. @AmitGupta002 has built pipelines from nothing, in markets nobody else wanted to touch first (Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan), and turned them into national wins.
That’s not a hire. That’s a growth thesis.
As India builds its sovereign cloud and cybersecurity backbone, revenue leadership matters as much as infrastructure. Amit will be driving exactly that: turning Esconet’s technology depth into enterprise and government scale.
Welcome to the team, Amit. The pipeline just got a lot more interesting.

Last week: what AI tools would have done TO us in lockdown.
Several of you asked the worse question.
What would we have CREATED? 🧵
AI writing tools: 400 million people start their autobiographical novel. 400 million Chapter 1s. Zero Chapter 2s. Nobody knew how theirs ended. Nobody knew when lockdown ended. Same problem.
LinkedIn AI post generator: "Lockdown gave me 7 skills, a side hustle, 43 books, and my true purpose." Written by someone who has not showered since Thursday. The algorithm does not care. It rewards them anyway.
YouTube + AI video editing: 800 million cooking channels. All banana bread. All convinced theirs is different. Four subscribers each. All family. All subscribed under pressure.
AI music tools: Every person who said "I could have been a musician" finally finds out. The answer is still no. There is now an album anyway. Their mother streams it on repeat.
AI interior design: Confidently recommends a feature wall colour. Looks different once the paint dries. Homeowner commits anyway. The entire 2024 renovation industry is explained by this.
The real thing though:
Buried in all of it would have been genuinely remarkable stuff. From people who finally had time to try.
We arrived at the tools a little too late.
Part 3 coming. The serious one. 👇
My wife watched me use ChatGPT and asked: "Why didn't this exist during COVID? We had nothing to do."
I had no answer. Then I couldn't stop imagining it. A thread. 🧵
ChatGPT: Crashes Day 1. 8 billion people typing symptoms at 2 AM. Every one of them convinced they are dying. The servers do not survive.
Zoom AI: "Your cat has been removed. Your pajamas have been noted and will remain confidential." Saves careers. Asks for nothing in return.
AI fitness coach: "You have taken 312 steps today. 311 were to the kitchen. I have concerns."
AI meal planner, Week 8: "I cannot classify what you have made. But you ate. That is enough."
LinkedIn AI post generator: "Lockdown gave me 9 lessons on resilience, purpose, and sourdough. Like if you breathe." Posted by everyone. Remembered by no one. Algorithm extremely happy.
The one AI that would have actually mattered?
An honest one. That simply said: we do not know yet, and that is okay.
We have built clever. Still working on honest.
Sequel coming. It gets worse. 👇
Never buy products of @Yalehomeindia. If you ever buy do not trust their engineers and dealers. Yale is selling Chinese products at a premium and their dealers do not have product knowledge. Their technicians do not have required skills. They shall destroy your wood work and simply cut a sorry figure.
Good step. But let’s be precise about what is being asked.
ICANN already has root server instances in India. What India is asking for is something with more governance weight – a formal presence that gives India meaningful oversight of its own DNS infrastructure.
The problem is that ICANN is a US entity. A root server on Indian soil, operated under US governance, is not sovereignty. It is outsourced infrastructure with an Indian address. Sound familiar?
The same logic applies to cloud. Physical location of servers has never determined jurisdiction. The CLOUD Act reaches American-owned infrastructure anywhere in the world. An India data centre under a US parent company is not a sovereign cloud.
India is asking the right question about DNS. It just needs to ask it all the way to its logical conclusion – which is Indian-governed infrastructure, not just Indian-located infrastructure.

If you planning to buy a VRV Airconditioning System for your home or commercial space do not rely on @DaikinIndia. They do have a Japanese brand but their post sales service if worse than any Chinese brand. Bad customer support and worst channel partners.
