I have been waiting to share this story, but I think now is the time as I feel all my SQL friends should have all the facts. Here is my story about the time @ewarren fired me. Back in the late 90's I was working at UT Austin as a kinda roving SQL Server DBA. A professor from
the law school asked me to help build a db to hold data from a business bankruptcy survey they were working on with Elizabeth Warren from Harvard. I spoke with Elizabeth once and she was quite lovely. However, she felt strongly that a SQL Server database was not needed because
LOTUS freakin' NOTES was a better solution. Now I know this was 20 years ago and people change, but choosing Lotus Notes over SQL Server was wrong even 20 years ago. Full disclosure, I still like @ewarren, but it is hard knowing about the notes thing.

Last year I ran the #anthem5k and nearly cried when I was done because I never thought I could run so far. This year a 5K is something I do a couple of times a week and I beat last years time by 3 minutes.
