Batoul Alloush is a 21-year-old Syrian student who disappeared from her university.
Her parents say the security cameras showed her entering but not leaving.
Eight days later, they were finally allowed to see her inside a General Security building.
Her father says she was dragged into the room by two men, barely able to walk, completely veiled, and that security personnel prevented her own parents from embracing her. He says a local security chief, Sheikh Salah al-Din, intervened directly in the meeting.
Then it gets worse.
Months later, Batoul called home.
She appeared to have gaps in her memory and did not remember events that had supposedly proved she was acting voluntarily.
During the conversation, she told her parents that men had made her remove her clothes and photographed her.
The call was cut.
When messages resumed afterward, whoever was writing called her mother “mama”, a word her father says Batoul had never used for her mother in her life.
Her parents say they were subsequently forced to flee Syria after Jolani's security forces began searching for them.
They later received information that their daughter was being registered for marriage to one of the men connected to the Jolani regime's local security chief.
Jolani's authorities have claimed that Batoul left voluntarily and converted of her own free will. Her family rejects that account and says she is being held under coercion.

Then ask yourself how a young woman can disappear from a university, reappear surrounded by Takfiri security officials, be kept away from her family, and somehow the burden is placed on her parents to prove that something is terribly wrong.

Venezuelan acting President Delcy Rodríguez addressed the nation on Saturday night detailing a 25-year energy agreement with the United States that opens the country’s oil fields to US capital.
The deal comes 8 months after US special forces captured and removed President Nicolás Maduro on January 3, installing Rodríguez as interim leader. In her address, she framed the agreement as preserving “sovereignty,” saying Venezuela retains ownership of its resources while inviting US investment.

I spoke with Father Dave Smith, an Australian Anglican Priest, Professional Boxer, and advocate for justice, especially in Palestine and Syria.
We discussed the persecution of the former Grand Mufti of Syria—Dr. Ahmad Badr Al-Din Hassoun—by the terrorist regime occupying Syria. Mufti Hassoun was arrested in March 2025, at Damascus Airport, and has been tortured in prison since. Some days ago, a Jolani regime show trial unjustly sentenced Sheikh Hassoun to life imprisonment.
Father Dave met Mufti Hassoun in 2013, and continued to meet with him for many years. I met Mufti Hassoun in 2014 and in subsequent meetings over the years, as well as interviewing him in 2018.
We discuss our mutual reflections of the incredible, loving, spirit of this man of peace, Sheikh Hassoun, and our wish that he will be released to freedom and with the restored dignity he deserves.
