Ich habe ein Buch darüber geschrieben, was es für die (liberale) Demokratie bedeutet, wenn es immer weniger liberale Demokraten gibt. Es geht darin auch um Elon Musk. droemer-knaur.de/buch/mark-s…

Reacting to the comments on my centibillionaires tweet. “The state is evil. Taxes are theft. Revenues are wasted. I am a communist (not to mention that I am french)” I get the message.😟 But I am still struck at the intensity of feelings (insults?). Really? That bad? Nothing good to say about the state? Fine that centibillionaires pay proportionally less than some of you? The terrain has too many mines (should probably replace “mines” by “drones”) for a discussion to be productive. But I cannot resist making a few points. If the firm has no liquidity, the tax could still be paid by giving the state non-voting shares. If the firm does well, the government will benefit. If it does poorly, so will the government. Sounds communist to you? This is exactly what the profit tax does in every country in the world: the state gets a lot when times are good, nothing when times are bad. The state is already a passive investor. Yes, the funds are not idle, and much is invested in new projects (I knew that, did not need to be told). But if the projects make economic sense, which I assume most do, then the wealth tax should have little effect on investment. The wealth tax does not affect future returns. If they need more funds, Musk and all should have little trouble finding investors. Happy to have a polite discussion.

No, @elonmusk, the U.S. stopped funding Ukraine last year. In fact, U.S. companies make money on American weapons for which we Europeans pay. The more you meddle in our politics and the more you play politics with your products, the more you damage your brand.
Replying to @elonmusk
And some of that US taxpayer money comes back through multiple laundry machines to fund political campaigns in America, which is why you see some politicians caring more about Ukraine than America!

@USAmbFrance Parents should be responsable for the misdeeds of their offsprings. #Kushner
NEWS: Jared Kushner reportedly had a secret Dubai bank account holding hundreds of millions of dollars from Azerbaijan, and he allegedly used it as a slush fund to pay a warlord, a mercenary, and a former hit man. There is no end to the corruption and depravity of these people.

Trump has served as US president for just over 2% of the nation's history, yet he is responsible for nearly 30% of its entire public debt. Read that again

Here is George Clooney’s response after Trump accused him of being a "Hollywood elite." "Here’s the thing: I grew up in Kentucky. I sold insurance door-to-door. I sold ladies’ shoes. I worked at an all-night liquor store. I would buy suits that were too big and too long and cut the bottom of the pants off to make ties so I’d have a tie to go on job interviews. I grew up understanding what it was like to not have health insurance for eight years. So this idea that I’m somehow the “Hollywood elite” and this guy who takes a shit in a gold toilet is somehow the man of the people is laughable. People in Hollywood, for the most part, are people from the Midwest who moved to Hollywood to have a career. So this idea of “coastal elites” living in a bubble is ridiculous. Who lives in a bigger bubble? He lives in a gold tower and has twelve people in his company. He doesn’t run a corporation of hundreds of thousands of people he employs and takes care of. He ran a company of twelve people! When you direct a film you have seven different unions all wanting different things, you have to find consensus with all of them, and you have to get them moving in the same direction. He’s never had to do any of that kind of stuff. I just look at it and I laugh when I see him say “Hollywood elite.” Hollywood elite? I don’t have a star on Hollywood Boulevard, Donald Trump has a star on Hollywood Boulevard! Fuck you!" - George Clooney actor, philanthropist, humanitarian & activist

Top government lawyer claims to be representing Kushner, who keeps insisting he is not a government employee or advisor.
Before publication, we sent Simon & Schuster a detailed 13-page letter responding to and categorically denying the extraordinary allegations made against my client, Jared Kushner, and challenging the total absence of supporting evidence. Vanity Fair has now published an excerpt amplifying these false and defamatory allegations. We have seen no credible evidence substantiating any of these claims, and we question what independent verification Vanity Fair conducted before publishing them. We intend to pursue legal action against those responsible and hold them accountable.

Der Stabschef des Justizministeriums ist der Anwalt des „Privatmanns“ Kushner? Es ist eine korrupte Bande.
My statement as Jared’s attorney: “The central allegation in this book is categorically false. These are not questions of interpretation or competing recollections: there are no bank accounts. They don’t exist. These are egregious and defamatory claims without a shred of evidence to substantiate them.”

I am absolutely disgusted by Vivek Ramaswamy. What he has done to his opponent, Dr. Amy Acton, is beneath any standard of human decency. When Amy Acton was a child, she suffered horrific abuse. At the age of 12, she was removed from her mother’s custody after her stepfather was charged with sexually assaulting her. Her mother stood by her husband, and Amy has been estranged from her for decades. Now, decades later, Vivek Ramaswamy has decided to exploit this painful childhood trauma for political gain. His campaign produced an attack ad featuring Amy’s estranged mother accusing her own daughter of lying about her childhood. And he is spending $4 million promoting it. What kind of disgusting human being does something like this? Imagine being a child who suffers sexual abuse, whose own mother fails to protect her, and who spends decades trying to overcome that trauma. Then imagine running for public office, only to have your political opponent bring back the very person who failed you as a child to publicly humiliate you. How morally bankrupt do you have to be to think this is acceptable? And what kind of mother would participate in such a campaign against her own daughter? I have seen some disgusting things in American politics, but this is a new low. I don’t care whether you are a Republican or a Democrat. There are certain lines that no decent human being should ever cross. Exploiting the childhood sexual abuse of your political opponent is one of them. And I have a particular question for Christians in Ohio who continue to support politicians who engage in this kind of behavior. What kind of Christianity are you representing? This is not Christianity. This is political idolatry. Vivek Ramaswamy has shown us what he is willing to do to gain political power. He is willing to exploit the trauma of a woman who suffered sexual abuse as a child. I find that absolutely disgusting. And I would be shocked if any decent person could watch this ad, understand the facts behind it, and still defend what Ramaswamy has done. There is no political victory worth sacrificing your humanity for. Shame on Vivek Ramaswamy. And shame on everyone who supports this moral bankruptcy.
