Most concerned me. One issue not related to me, was a then recent report of a female in Tasmania who was left crippled in a wheel chair in constant care, after being administered a course of ECT ( Electro Convulsive Therapy, to treat Clinical Depression. I believe I had had it done to me years earlier but have no records if it. The only reply I received from Helper was a brief letter saying Labor is fine with it ! I continued to approach the relevant Ministers about ECT, and the Validity of Consents signed while heavily sedated. I eventually got the below response. It also addressed my concerns over State Mental Health Files being illegally copied and distributed by Federal Departments. On that issue, I had already complained to the State Health Services Commissioner, Beth Wilson; whose response, simply said, what do you expect me to do about it ! ECT is banned in a lot of countries and considered too dangerous. Recently Laws Suits in the UK have cost the Government there considerable and is now considered Banned although still on the books. I also complained to the Police Ethical Standards Department and Minister about Police using Tasers on peoples’ heads to destroy and confuse memory ! I’m sure it happened to me !
