If you thought November began warm you aren't wrong. Bill Marino, a retiree from @NWSGrandRapids , posted a stat that the first three days of November were tied as the warmest on record with an average temp of 67 degrees. The previous occurrence = 1938!
Contrast that with how cold it can get this time of year. It's hard to believe you can wake up to snow and six degree low temp and that occurred on Nov. 5, 1951. #wmiwx #miwx

The Union City, MI preliminary EF-3 tornado that occurred on March 6, 2026 is the earliest EF-3+ tornado in the calendar year for Michigan. The previous earliest was an EF-3 that struck north of Ann Arbor, MI on March 15, 2012.
