I watched my first NSL game in the Don Di Fabrizio stand - so I had to grab a final photo before last year’s demolition.
But today, at a celebration event for the new Falcons Park in Morwell, it’s hard not to get excited.
Five elite pitches and all new facilities.
Thrilled ❤️
Thinking about the magnitude of last night and what it means.
Opportunity, possibility.
I hope it drives the one thing we’ve lacked for so long: unity.
The nature of Australia and how we’ve curated professional sport means there’s surprisingly few one-team towns in the top tier leagues, like in Europe and the US.
The Knights are just an incredible example of what sport can do.
Love the ‘Town’. Such a top place. Bring it home.
This series against Brazil exceeded my expectations.
They absolutely turned it on when they had to, which was cool to see on our shores.
But the Socceroos played with genuine verve and swagger - a couple of truly outstanding moments.
Highly entertaining, genuinely promising.
Connor Metcalfe has become such a weapon.
Would love to see him become an outstanding, dominant footballer.
Connor Metcalfe goes BANG 🔥
A banger from outside the box to put us in front ⏩

Perth Glory changed Australian football.
The 🐓 was at heart of it 💜
History Redefined.
We are delighted to introduce our 2026/27 @MacronSports kits, forged to honour the past and embrace the future in the club’s 30th Anniversary season.

How good is this from Joey.
And Matty’s reaction post-game was just as good.
Gotta love the Knights, gotta love the Town ❤️💙
The craziest comeback I think I’ve ever seen in any sport.
Congratulations Brisbane. Three in a row is absolutely incredible.
But the heart breaks for all those Freo fans.
It ain’t over ‘till it’s over, is it…
Couldn’t ask for anything more from the Socceroos.
Would have loved the win - hopefully it teaches our young players about the need to switch on to the last play of the match against world class players.
But honestly, a pretty heroic 90 minutes on such a poor field.
Nestory Irankunda was already celebrating the moment that went off his boot.
One of the greatest free-kicks I’ve seen a Socceroo take, ever.
What a player to have on our side 🇦🇺
Looks a fabulous occasion in Townsville - fantastic to see a fixture like this up there.
And BRILLIANT to see the locals rallying in numbers.
But that pitch isn’t good enough. The turf is breaking apart.
Both the Socceroos and Brazil deserve a better pitch to show their wares.
South Melbourne v Melbourne Victory in an Australia Cup final.
The game’s parallel lines of demarcation are about to converge.
What a stage. What a night.
There’s never been a better campaign for any sport in Australia.
The ad was immaculate. Hit like a meteorite: football was now cool.
The marketing campaign around it (buses, posters, digital) breathed so much vibrancy and energy into the league.
Everyone was talking about it.
This is such a triumph for Spain’s football ecosystem.
Each town has at least one team, but in those that have more, they act as pyramids, enabling a rapid identification/escalation of talent.
The design of the wider structure means the teams all, inadvertently, work together.
Even to some degree, that pyramid goes all the way to the top three teams: even very good La Liga teams feed players to Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atlético Madrid.
It creates extremely refined players at the tip of the spear, ones who are ready for almost anything.
