you should more or less assume every game developer is using AI until proven otherwise. Kinda funny to make a stink about AI in NMS’s case, a game where it’s a simulated universe created by an AI, where planet terrain and asset arrangement is handled by proc gen, etc. I wouldn’t be surprised if some years/decades down the line HG will try proc gen at the asset level using AI. Remember when Sean Murray reposted some AI fanart? Remember when Hello Games partnered with Google DeepMind for SIMA 2? Etc etc. Don’t be surprised if you see it happen explicitly is all I’m saying.
atp im suspecting that they using using gen ai bc theyre releasing a new giga update every month

Hello Games' Sean Murray has said the studio is not rushing generative AI and continues traditional development. No Man's Sky's updates continue a long pattern of free support aided by tech shared with their next game Light No Fire.

asked my IGN China reviewer what they thought about tencent and they left me on read
Ign China is quite blunt with the downfall of western games. As well as calling out western reviewers bias towards the success of Chinese titles such as Black Myth Wu Kong, with its Phantom Blade 0 review.

I thought GTA 6 was supposed to be an unprecedented cultural phenomenon that would crush every other entertainment industry…
And the song associated with it can’t even crack the Top 50.

It’s crazy because a 60 for any of these games seems completely valid. People want reviewers to break out of the mold and share their true thoughts until someone actually does it
