A fat bureaucrat asked me, "do you make a good living doing art?" "As good a one as did Van Gogh, Gauguin, Modigliani," replied I. Illegitimi non carborundum.

AI autonomous replication (copying itself onto smart TVs, Android boxes, appliances, etc. — without relying on data-center infrastructure) could become feasible by the end of 2026. Such a “replicator” would lack a central kill-switch and could easily adapt to unfamiliar hardware.

“There is the happiness which comes from creative effort. The joy of dreaming, creating, building, whether in painting a picture, writing an epic, singing a song, composing a symphony, devising new invention, creating a vast industry.” ― Henry Miller Paint, write, create, repeat.

“We've always had a sense that there is more to us and more to the world than we can see; that there are hidden depths to be released, talents to be unveiled. Creativity is a soup of heritability, environment, experience, of focused attention and mind wandering.” ― Jules Montague

He said he keeps a drawing surface close at hand and sometimes wakes to find mysterious imagery has appeared overnight. Drawings of dreams, he confides. "I should set up a camera to discover what is going on," he mused. "But I rather like not actually knowing. It might ruin it."

Speaking directly to emotion and the subconscious (unlike realistic art, which usually tells a story or depicts recognizable objects) abstract #art bypasses narrative going straight to feeling by using color, shape, rhythm, texture, and gesture as a visualation of pure sensation.

Creativity may be a sort of plasma, a coursing thought process born of the Default Mode Network in the brain where complex thoughts, ruminations and meaning-making give birth to abstract ways to visualate the existential elements that make up what is commonly referred to as Life.

Longevity A new study has showed that arts engagement was related to 4% slower aging rate, meaning people were around a year younger biologically. Being a source for increased life span, at no cost to the recipient for this healthy extension, gives me a certain sense of pleasure.

People were always the limiters of happiness except for the very few that were as good as Spring itself. ― Ernest Hemingway In a world where thrushes sing and willow trees are golden in the Spring, boredom should have been included among the seven deadly sins. ― Elizabeth Goudge

The week began with a high temperature of 22°F and winds up to 65mph. The week is forecast to end today with a temp in the mid-90s and winds up to 40mph. The cold killed the blooms on most of my flowering trees, leaving me bereft. To celebrate #Spring, a work in brilliant #color.

"Psychedelic" isn't a drug thing; it's a state of consciousness that can be triggered by overwhelming, precisely tuned sensory input — intentionally made to manifest as a retinal/brain resonance. The viewer is asked to contribute, from their own library of personal experiences.

Creating in #art for art’s sake while spiriting a viewer away from humdrum realities of the everyday tediums is a fulfilling endeavor. Art is an existential exploration of the essence of what it means to be a conceptually capable being. Imagination, creativity and interpretation.

Think of it as a big party. A New Years Eve party! All the cool are there: Picasso, Warhol, Lichtenstein, Kandinsky, Leger. It was rumored among the assembled #party warriors that Banksy had been there. In disguise. Of course. Dali sent his regrets. His aardvark had the sniffles.

"Nothing as drastic an innovation as abstract art could have come in to existence, save as the consequence of a most profound, relentless, unquenchable need. The need is for felt experience - intense, immediate, direct, subtle, unified, warm, vivid, rhythmic." ― Robert Motherwell

Once upon a time, I had a sizable #art collection. Then came a time when I decided it would be better served as an educational tool, so others would realize that Native Americans aren't just dusty relics of the past. I gave it all away. So people would realize: we are still here.

In one area of my visual art are evocations derived from mental states that are not present to the senses nor considered to be real but can create sensations, feelings and thoughts having the ability to become manifest in a variety of media: an alchemy of ephemeral metamorphosis.

"Complex" refers to something that is made up of many interconnected parts, making it a challenge to analyze or understand. It may also describe a psychological condition involving anxiety or preoccupation with a particular issue. This is complex, but in what capacity? #MattFoley

Everyone knows the internet was made for posting #cat pictures. It seems furry felines have been a staple for such a long time. Even days are dedicated to the custom. Well, now I am posting one. This is a watercolor I did when I was around 7 years old. Thanks, mom, for saving it.

Art plays a profound role in human life, serving as a mirror to human experiences, a catalyst for intellectual growth, and a bridge between individuals and societies. It's not just decoration or entertainment—it's essential for emotional, mental, and broader cultural development.
