In The Times:
"It was a quiet year for cricket books, but arguably the best is Elephant in the Stadium, by Arunabha Sengupta, which is a social history and as much about the legacy of colonialism as it is about India’s first Test series win in England in 1971."
- Alyson Rudd.

Has anyone experienced discriminatory gate personnel @Ryanair in Dublin ? I with my family just did and it was shocking. The tone of address and the mishandling of procedure and threatening behavior. Unacceptable for any passenger. First bad experience in Dublin

We keep hearing how important Test cricket is, but where are the fans in South Africa? Empty stands, no atmosphere, and we’re supposed to believe the format is thriving? You can’t keep calling Test cricket the pinnacle of the game if no one turns up to watch it. Harsh reality, but someone has to say it. Pathetic

Lesson for England, Australia looked vulnerable.
Bangladesh is just incidental in a reflection on Bangladesh's first Test win in Australia.

When we keep repeating cricket is a gentleman's game, this is what we actually imply.
Not angelic souls not running non-strikers out even when they are halfway down the wicket before the ball is bowled.
Cyril Walters born #onthisday 1905 did well enough in his 11 Tests
What is jarring is that he captained England in his 7th Test
Wyatt had a broken thumb, but Hammond & Sutcliffe were there, as was Hendren
But cricket was a Gentleman's game!
At least captaincy was.

However, during the match he was refused entry by Lord's stewards. This wouldn't be the last time.
It led to his refusal to accept MCC membership
