NEWSFLASH 🚨 Today we launched @OutRivalAI ’s new Agency Partnership Program starting with @SethOdell and Kanahoma AI Admissions, powered by OutRival. For years, agencies managed paid and organic marketing for schools but couldn’t deliver enrollment outcomes. Now they can. If you remember my original Breaking Into Startups post, one of the most important things to master as a founder is not just relationships, but distribution. That’s exactly what this partnership represents. 📘 Read the full announcement from Seth here: linkedin.com/posts/sethodell… #AI #DigitalWorkers #AIAgents #HigherEd #OutRival cc @timurmeyster @KanahomaAgency Breaking Into Startups Post here: medium.com/breaking-into-sta…

I recently did something similar and got rid of over 500 books I essentially went through each and asked: “Why am I really keeping this?” When I was honest with myself: - I kept a mountain of books I’d previously read as some type of expression of accomplishment (aka to make myself feel smart) - I kept others as some expression of intellectual individualism (aka look at me and what great taste I have) - I kept a high volume of other books I had never read because I felt some fear that I wasn’t good enough and I needed to read them - And finally, I kept a bunch of books I either loved and wanted to read again, or genuinely was excited to eventually read (these were the only ones I kept) Was wild for me to be honest that fear was the primary motivator behind my extensive collection Ultimately I acknowledged they weren’t serving me anymore and I ended up getting rid of 90%+ of all the books I had

Sent this message to the Figure team today Brett Adcock 12:48 PM The company has doubled in headcount quickly. This might sound counterintuitive, but more headcount by default will only slow us down. What makes us special is our engineering speed and focus - I don't ever want us to lose this! I listed out a few principles so we can be effective warriors in the fight against corporate bloat: 1. I see far too many people in case study interviews. The candidate fail rate is quite high during case study interviews, a trend I expect to continue. We will not lower our hiring bar, but instead be more conscious of our time. Ideally 3 people or less at the case study. ME’s do their case studies via Zoom as it’s far more time-effective and on-sites directly after 2. I find large meetings are often inefficient. Too many cooks in the kitchen scenario. Only attend meetings where your participation is necessary, and feel free to leave if your contribution is not critical 3. Weekly meetings are cumulatively building-up and contribute to slowing down. Re-evaluate if recurring meetings are needed, reduce the number of people, and look at the frequency. Theme here is the less meetings the better 4. What's amazing is our progress given the poor engineering-to-robot ratio historically. The company’s progress is upper-bounded by the cumulative amount of robot hours per engineer per week. Give urgency to robot uptime and be thoughtful about your time on robot. This will be less of an issue as we scale up our fleet 5. Use our balance sheet as a competitive advantage for speed. e.g. never let our schedule be held-up by not having enough supply chain on-site. Be thoughtful about spending model in exchange for bringing the schedule left. 6. Use our in-office culture to your advantage. If you are stuck on a problem, the person who can fix this is sitting here - go directly to the source As a reminder, review our Goals for 2024. LFG

Sales rep has been chasing me for 90 days via phone, email. I deep-dove on their website, including T&Cs, Privacy rules, etc. Exchanged ~3 emails. I want to buy. Rep refuses to talk pricing w/o a long call. Googled "Alternative to ___". Found one with clear pricing in 3 mins
"I can't give you pricing unless we talk for 30 mins and I have enough inputs for our finance team to optimally extract value from you with a *custom discount*" I wonder how many SaaS companies lose sales because of this? @ProSalesCoach thoughts?

Some have asked for pics of the Revolutionary War fort we discovered inside an old plantation house in West Virginia. Almost none of the original Rev War frontier log forts survive. Historians believed an old log fort know as Byrnside’s Fort was still there, inside the walls of this large house. But… We had to buy the property first before being able to take a crowbar to it to see if the logs were inside the walls. I was 90% sure they were there…

In 2023, 47% of our website A/B tests have converged with statistical significance for the variant. We've made an estimated $4.7 M in incremental annual revenue with those improvements. It's a great story for our team. But if 47% of our tests are winning, our site still SUCKS.
