Writing this in my personal capacity, but I have been flying these types of aircraft for more than 20 years, with over 8,000 hours, and have reasonable familiarity with how the charter world operates. I feel compelled to post after seeing commentary about the Lear 60 crash, from missile strikes to DEI to critiquing this poor woman’s final radio calls. That last part is what I find most troubling. She was the second-in-command (SIC), and while she was empowered to point out mistakes as part of good crew resource management, she was doing her job, communicating with ATC right to the end in a terrifying situation. She likely knew before many of those calls that she was going to die. I have heard final calls from friends, from military pilots with thousands of hours in fighter aircraft, and they are just as heartbreaking because they know the end is approaching. I understand the public interest given the footage and audio. But you do not know the aircraft’s maintenance history, whether there was a structural failure, if any failure was induced by turbulence, overspeed, or overcontrol, or everything happening in that cockpit. I am sure weather will be part of the investigation, but beyond that, it is speculation. The charter industry routinely hires commercial pilots very early in their careers to gain experience alongside an ATP-qualified captain before they move up to the airlines. She would still have the appropriate training, qualifications, and checkouts by an FAA examiner or designee. Let people investigate, learn, and share the facts. Be respectful to those who perished and the families who carry their memories. God bless them and their loved ones.

Joey Logano's 2026 and 2021 Talladega flips but the MRN calls are synced. 15 seconds in you're going to think your ears are tricking you but they're not.

Hate to not get a better result there, but it was still a blast to run. A huge thanks to everyone for letting me participate and showing your support. Congrats to Victory Junction on reaching their donation goal as well! Fyi - I was an inflatable tube man, not a carrot 🤣

NASCAR mandates that all drivers must wear a head restraint device in competition, either the HANS or Hutchens Device. Because of the cost involved, Jeff Green offers to buy one for any driver who cannot afford one.

[Fourth-Wall Break] Back on September 11, I said that if X monetized me, I would donate the money to Tunnels to Towers, a foundation helping surviving first responders of the attacks. X did not monetize me for September 11, and my revenue sharing was reinstated a couple days later. Nevertheless, I donated my paid partnership revenue, as well as a sizeable portion of the surrounding creator revenue sharing amount, amounting to several hundred dollars. I encourage you to donate to Tunnels to Towers or other September 11 survivors’ organizations. Doing the coverage all September made me realize the unimaginable scale of the events’ horror for the first time, and the effects with which many are still living, notably cancers and disabilities. Overall it has been an honor to try and do right by this tragedy, and I hope you will all stick around as I cover the rest of 2001, then 2002, 2003, and onward.
