This was something else ... Sam Maguire and All Ireland champions Jack Carney, Donnacha McHugh and Diarmuid O Connor piped onto Achill Island by local pipe bands. The place was heaving. It was emotional and evocative. The gift that keeps on giving 💚❤️

If Colm Boyle had done nothing else all year, he was worth having in the Mayo backroom for this alone. (Via @ExaminerSport)

Warms the heart to see the Mayo lads and County enjoy their success so much ❤️💚
As much as the victory narrative centred on their winning drought it was the teams personality & their style of play all infused with the injection of youth that resonated sooo much too 👍💪

Congrats @AIDOXI
The resilience you have shown has been rewarded today. Imagine having given up 2 years ago..you would have to sit on the couch with 50 years of regrets… look at you now..whether you kicked a ball today doesn’t matter a fuck..
You were there for every meeting, clarity session and training session. Your input will be appreciated by those who matter. You can do what you like now. Enjoy the celebrations.💪❤️❤️🥇

If ever a player deserved an All Ireland Medal it would have been
LEE KEEGAN winner of five all stars and the highest scoring defender of all-time 6–40 in 54 championship matches.
A phenomenal player and a true gentleman. 🟢🔴

Andy Moran made a point of bringing his daughter Charlotte onto the pitch after Mayo lost the 2016 and 2017 All-Ireland finals to give some important perspective to what had just occurred on the pitch.
Today, 10 years later, he brought his daughter and son Ollie up the Hogan Stand steps.
It's just incredible. 💚❤️
