#BethEllenVinson It's #TipTuesday and we need your help to bring more attention to Beth-Ellen's #Unresolved murder and to bring more pressure to Raleigh, North Carolina PD. On August 23, 1994, approximately four weeks after Beth Ellen Vinson, a 17-year-old white female, left her home in Goldsboro, North Carolina, and went to Raleigh to work and save enough money to get to New York, her body was found. Ms. Vinson’s body had been covered with cardboard, and left between two warehouses on Wicker Road. Ms. Vinson who worked for an escort service was last seen at 2:30 a.m. on August 16, 1994, when she left her apartment to meet a client. At 5:30 a.m. her 1990 white four door Mazda 626 was found at the entrance of a car dealership on Capital Boulevard. Continuing investigation of this homicide, determined that Ms. Vinson was in possession of four pieces of jewelry and a multi-colored cloth purse the morning of her homicide. These items have never been recovered. Medical examination disclosed that Ms. Vinson had been stabbed in excess of 15 times. #MuttontownJaneDoe On 11/10/01 the remains of a skeletal woman was found in the Muttontown Preserve, approximately 300 feet off a nature trail from Muttontown Road & 15 feet off the path, between 3 intersecting bridle paths. She was found by a Boy Scout troop practicing map making. According to Namus, believed to have been there 3 years prior, but earlier reports have her there 5 years prior. So date of death somewhere between 1996-1998. Estimated to be between 25-50 years old & between 4'9" & 5'4". Her left front tooth was missing, replaced by a denture. This type of denture has only been around since 1970. Remains were completely skeletonized. Clothing was not recovered. #Cherries On 3/3/07 a suitcase with a woman's stabbed torso washed up on Harbor Island Beach in Mamaroneck, NY. On 3/27/07 one of her legs and right foot washed on Cold Spring Harbor. The toes were half polished with pink nail polish. On 3/28/07 the other leg washed up in Oyster Bay Cove, on the property of media billionaire James Dolan, in a plastic bag tied with green gardener's twine. The leg was half in and half out of the bag and also has pink nail polish. The rest of her remains have never been found. The remains are described as a Black/African American or Hispanic woman, between the age of 35-50, 5'7"-6'1", and between 180-200 lbs. She has a tattoo of 2 red cherries with a green stem on her right breast. The suitcase is described as a Black suitcase, brand name Protégé, exclusively sold at Walmart. Found in the tucked in the crevices of the suitcase were small scraps of paper, which pieced together it looks like a calendar with the Spanish word "cinco" and the phrase "begin to live". The remains in the suitcase were found with a v-neck red velvety camisole, brand name Coconut Republic, with Spanish labels, size Medium and a 38B underwire bra. Also found were a pair of grey Champion brand sweatpants and a tan or cream colored Voice brand long sleeved shirt. Because a storm had hit the area just prior, LE were not able to determine where the remains were dumped into the water. Plainview John Doe On 3/26/04, the remains of a male were found in the median on the Northern State Parkway, adjacent to a connecting utility road, between Exits 38 & 39 in Plainview. The estimated date of death, according to Namus, was 6 months prior. No cause of death given. All parts recovered. He is estimated to be either a White or Hispanic male, between the ages of 23-57, 5'2", no weight estimated, no hair or eye color given. However, a digital sketch done shows he may have brown or black hair. Clothing found include tan bell bottom pants size 26/27, white long sleeved buttoned shirt with orange & blue check design, red nylon zippered windbreaker, tan brief type underwear with mesh front, white tube socks with green stripes. Also found was a black plastic wallet, black plastic pick comb & currency dated 1974. While Namus says the remains are estimated at being 6 months old, all indications of type of clothing & the year of the money found suggest he was killed in the 70's. #ArverneJaneDoe May 1, 1991, an unidentified female was found deceased along the shore of Jamaica Bay near Beach 62nd Street in Arverne (Queens), New York. She had been deceased for several months before being found by 2 fishermen. She is black, approximately 16-24 years old and stood around 5’3” tall. Her weight, hair and eye color are unknown. #ArverneJaneDoe had dental work completed as a gold cap was seen on one of her upper front teeth that would have been noticeable to others. She was found wearing a black shirt that had metal rivets on it, and socks with light blue trim. She was apparently beaten to death in either late 1990 or early 1991, and partially dismembered with both hands and one third of her forearm missing. There are no police agencies actively investigating #ArverneJaneDoe which is a shame.
