ALT We campaign to end collective worship in state schools. No child should be made to pray or give reverence to a god. In england and Wales all state schools are legally required to hold a daily act of worship that is 'Christian in character'. Obviously, this discriminate against non-Christians.' Yes, parents can withdraw their child from worship, but... parents shouldn't have to decide between indoctrination or alienation. No child should be made to feel like an outsider. So, what's more popular than worship with parents? A lot! In 2019 YouGov poll parents rated the environment, mental health, physical health, equality, self-esteem, exploration of ethical issues, humanitarian issues, arts, and culture, historical events, celebration of achievements, charity, and volunteering, all above religious worship. Replace collective worship with inclusive assemblies. We're working with teachers, schools, and parliamentarians to make sure no child is excluded from school life.
