Big thread from PBOT Commish on this sad occasion of record traffic fatalities.
And she doesn't say "ODOT" but that's the agency in control of the streets where the deaths are spiking.
This year, Portland has seen a record number of traffic fatalities on our streets, which has unfortunately received nowhere near as much attention or investment as the tragic gun violence we have also experienced. My full statement below:
