i've always taken "do not disturb" to mean "i don't want discord disturbing me" and not "i don't want other people to message me". it mutes the messages so like i won't even notice people messaging me until i manually check

One thing that always annoys me in sci-fi is that the aliens are all vaguely humanoid - I understand this is for budget reasons (and to make the normies sympathise) But there's so much interesting potential with truly alien beings. In the real world we actually have fungal slime that can solve computationally difficult problems on pure evolutionary instinct and no intellect. That's just what we have in our backyard! Imagine a whole universe of alternate evolutionary paths. Aliens would have truly incomprehensible shapes and ways to understand the world.
