🇨🇦 Canada's Real Estate Bubble: This Time Is NOT Different.
As I've said many times, I've studied and documented financial bubbles throughout history.
Canada's real estate bubble is a classic example of speculative excess, fueled by decades of expanding credit, falling interest rates, and the belief that property prices could rise indefinitely.
Nothing particularly different about it except, apparently, to Canadians.
I've updated my Investor Psychology Bubble Cycle model to illustrate where Canadian housing stands today: between denial and fear.
The 2022 peak is behind us.
The credit cycle has turned.
Valuations remain extreme.
Demographics are deteriorating.
History suggests the most painful phase of a bubble often arrives AFTER the initial decline, when confidence finally gives way to forced selling and deleveraging.
Economic Winter doesn't ask investors whether they believe in cycles.
And to those who insist, “It's different this time”
May the gods of credit spare you from the consequences of ignoring history.

If $GME drops the warrant strike from $32 to $10, the warrants instantly go deep in-the-money.
That’s a massive gift to every holder — free intrinsic value of ~$13–14 per warrant with the stock near $23–24.
Exercise would explode, cash would flood into GameStop, and the already sky-high borrow rate on the warrants would crush anyone short them.
Price action on both the warrants and the stock would turn violent almost immediately.
Have a plan ready. This kind of move has never been done at this scale.

Barclays’ research page for GameStop has been displaying a market capitalization of $11,669,634,048,000,000 for an extended period.
Dividing that figure by one million produces a number that closely matches $GME real market cap of roughly $11.8 billion.
This points to a persistent scaling or unit-conversion error in the data feed or frontend display. The page also shows multiple other fields as n/a, reinforcing that the instrument data is incomplete or mishandled.
Whether the root cause sits with the data provider or the platform itself remains unclear but the discrepancy has stayed visible long enough that it is no longer a transient glitch.

If GameStop warrants DON'T expire worthless this week, short sellers paying the recent high cost-to-borrow rates will be forced to buy back warrants to close their positions.
If GameStop warrants DO expire worthless this week, the borrowed securities become worthless, allowing shorts to profit and close their positions without buying back any warrants.
