Interesting to note that pretty much every "contentious" point that people are mad about in regards to the personal status law legislation in Iraq is just straight up Sistanis or the shaheeds risala lol
My favorite form of modernist Muslim "critical skepticism" is the practice of divorcing ethical identities from their actual moral claims and then trivializing the term to some silly "being kind" practical definition.
To the guy in the video "exploiting other animals" means even eating an egg (in of and itself) or owning a sheep on your farm etc. To act as if veganism just means being anti factory farming is very disingenuous and is purposely avoiding the world view of the identity.

Keep going and eventually you arrive at a very simple question:
Where does the independent verification come from?
A chain can be perfectly ṣaḥīḥ according to the rules of the system. But that tells us the chain passed the system’s criteria. It does not independently establish that the Prophet or Imam actually said the words attributed to him.
That gap between isnād authentication and historical demonstration is where things get interesting.
