Oh nice. Upgrading to macOS 27.2 and the system CA bundle reverted back to trusting those bad certificates 😡
Pretty funny to see scalpers in Japan gotten panic after seeing the buying price of iPhone Duo dropped significantly due to CrackGate lowering the demand. Maybe these store pickup stocks will start to last more than 30 seconds soon.
As someone who was able to get their defective first-gen AirPods Pro replaced every half a year, I really felt like a lot of CrackGate posts are really just clickbait and ragebait. I believe Apple will replace those defective devices without any issues.

I'm editing Primary Tech Daily on Duo and it's nuts I can do this with Pencil on my *iPhone*
I thought this was common in Apple Stores in all countries ever since they switched to MagSafe display stands, but apparently it’s not? 🤔
And yeah, I did pocket tests with the Duo (and even the Air back then) to see how it felt, then put it back. Not an issue.

It’s going to be an exciting week, and it starts with our all-new iPad mini.
Thinner and lighter than ever, with an OLED display, water and dust resistance, better audio, powered by A20 Pro… it’s the biggest update ever to iPad mini!
Spending my Sunday having agents going through VPS logs to find suspicious activity and making them only accessible through Tailscale 🥺
Looks like Apple did release a support document about compromised eMudhra certificates as well

By the way, the best way to mitigate this is probably follow the updated instruction on emudhra.we-have-a-problem.co…
I'd recommend doing this manually instead of running a script because a script may execute those vulnerable cURL/git/Python without you knowing. Better be safe!
Feels like a dedicated sidebar might actually make a comeback. This design for iPhone Duo makes a lot of sense.
But wow, this gives so much of Tweetie vibe.

BTW for my developer friends who are still on macOS, you need to do this manually otherwise your local cURL won't reject the compromised certs (until Apple release an update).
Then, try `curl` the test URL. If it complains about certificate, you're good.

Quite interesting to see that it's not just a normal matte screen protector layer. That algorithm to generate the nanotexture's pattern was definitely Apple's well-guarded secret.

it’s a shame this app’s update for the Duo was such a lazy cop out. especially since they had a way, way better version about 16 years ago. i spent a couple of hours and made (imo) a far better app experience that actually takes advantage of the screen space.

Apple 銀座の階段にて、リニューアル前の店舗の姿を収めた写真を発見…👀✨
2003年、アメリカ国外初のApple StoreとしてオープンしたApple 銀座。
Apple Storeの店内で、こうして自店舗の歴史を振り返る展示があるのは、なかなか珍しいのではないでしょうか…!
