I have drawn the attention of Parliament to the numerous fire outbreaks in our country especially in Nansana at Hami Junior school that claimed two innocent lives and at Ivory hotel which reportedly caused significant destruction. @Parliament_Ug has observed a moment of silence for the innocent souls lost & @OPMUganda has pledged to help the Bereaved Families of Namusoke Raniya (P.1) & Abdul Shakur Bwette (P.3)

Congratulations to @thomas_kitimbo upon attaining a Master of Arts in Diplomacy and Global Studies @VUKampala I am greatly honoured that you chose me as your Chief Guest on this important milestone. In my remarks, I made a point that is worth reflecting on: In Uganda, sometimes you don’t need books when you have them, but you desperately need them when you don’t have them. This reminds us that education is a privilege and an opportunity that must never be taken for granted. To all those attaining Master’s degrees & PhDs, my appeal is simple: let us leave a legacy beyond academic papers and titles. Let our education translate into practical solutions, transform our communities, improve people’s lives and make a meaningful impact on society. The true value of education is not merely in the certificates we acquire, but in the lives we change through the knowledge we gain.

Today, I officially launched the National Communication Policy, 2026 at the Uganda Media Centre. The policy will ensure coordinated, timely and effective Government communication to support socio-economic transformation. Every MDA and local government will now be required to have a communication strategy aligned to this policy. We are moving from silos to synchronized, digital and citizen-centered communication. 📸 @UgandaMediaCent

Government has attributed the current surge in petroleum pump prices across the country to the depreciation of the Uganda shilling against the US dollar and the increase in excise duty on fuel among other international and domestic factors. @simugabi #NBSLiveAt9 #NBSUpdates
