Feels like we probably won't see Jyllissa Harris back with Ottawa. She certainly made her mark on the Northern Super League.

I think we need to start to be more careful about the way we credit institutions, competitions, leagues, and programs with player development outcomes. Part of this is players taking a more proactive approach to owning their development.

Part of that ownership is thanking the individuals that gave them the tools to take steps in their career that advanced their player profile (technical, tactical, social/emotional, physical, etc.). But, another part is being honest about gaps in systems.

It's become a de facto marketing move for clubs, leagues, and coaches to cite player achievements as those of the development environment that the player participated in. But, I can say from experience it's typically how the player operated IN SPITE of the system not due to it.
