Why does the British media use the label “South Asian” when reporting on the Pakistani grooming gangs scandal? Why not identify the communities involved? Swami Vigyananand, founder of the World Hindu Foundation, argues that such broad categorisation blurs important distinctions and affects how Hindus are perceived. From the Pakistani grooming gangs controversy to Hindu identity, media representation and global influence, this is a conversation that raises difficult questions. BREAKING: Israeli police have arrested 7 suspects, including 3 school principals, in a vote buying scheme involving Mansour Abbas’s Ra’am party. Investigators uncovered cash, envelopes containing thousands of shekels, and election materials. Voters were offered ₪200 to ₪300 per household in exchange for political support. Separately, Israel’s Shin Bet is investigating intelligence suggesting tens of millions of shekels from Qatar may have been used to influence the election. Likud is now seeking to overturn results at polling stations where alleged violations occurred.

A leading factor in Thane station congestion is people from Dombivli and beyond interchanging from Central to Trans harbour to go to Digha/Airoli. The Kalwa Airoli link planned to fix this has been stalled by Jitendra Awhad since 2017. He literally called them his votebank.

For two years, I travelled from Badlapur to Nariman Point by local train to CSMT, followed by a taxi. Before that, I spent three years commuting from Badlapur to Andheri. Then, one day, during peak hours, while boarding a CSMT-bound local at Badlapur, I slipped on the platform and narrowly escaped falling into the gap between the platform and the tracks. I survived that day. But something changed. That was the end of my daily commute by local trains. I told myself, never again. I chose to pay nearly six times the rent to live in Vikhroli, closer to work, so I could commute by bike or cab instead. Of course, my expenses shot up. But I gained something I had begun to take for granted: peace of mind. I could finally sleep without nightmares of falling off a packed local train. I know this comes from a place of privilege. Millions of Mumbaikars living in the distant suburbs have little choice but to depend on local trains. Not everyone can afford to move closer to work or pay for an alternative commute. But if you can afford to make that choice and are still putting it off, please reconsider. Mumbai's local trains are the city's lifeline. But for those of us forced to travel in dangerously overcrowded conditions, they can also become a death trap. No commute should come at the cost of your life. If you have a way out, take it.

I spent 5 days in Japan studying health and science. But I came back with 4 words that changed how I look at life. The Japanese have words we simply don’t have in English. And when I heard them, I could not stop thinking about how much we are missing. 4 words that I brought back home with me. 1. YUTORI (ゆとり) — Leave some room in your life. We have become obsessed with filling every single minute. Meetings. Calls. Workouts. Podcasts. More goals. More hustle. But your body heals in stillness. Your mind thinks clearly in space. We have forgotten what it feels like to just breathe. 2. REI (礼) — Respect doesn’t make you smaller. I watched people bow here. To welcome someone. To thank someone. To simply acknowledge another human being. The most grounded, confident people I know carry deep respect for others. It does not shrink them. It makes them bigger. 3. PIN PIN KORORI (ピンピンコロリ) — Don’t only live longer. Stay capable longer. This one hit me hard. Because we chase longevity. But longevity without quality of life means nothing. The real goal is to be sharp, strong, mobile, and present for as long as possible. That is what I call Human Capacity. And you build it every single day with the small choices you make. 4. ISOGABA MAWARE (急がば回れ) — Sometimes the slower route gets you there faster. We glorify urgency. Fix yourself faster. Grow faster. Heal faster. But your body does not work on urgency. It works on consistency. The slow, steady, intentional path always wins. Japan did not just teach me about health. It reminded me that the way you live every day is the medicine. Which one are you going to start using in your life today? #japan #india #lifelessons
