Everyone talks tokens, nobody talks sinks. Gaming token this, gaming token that. Having a token is all good & well but how have so few games got true token sinks? For the people that don't know, a sink takes tokens OUT of circulation: Repairs. Crafting. Upgrades. Cosmetics. No sinks = price dumps. Rewards get players in. Sinks keep the economy alive. What's the best sink you've seen in a game?

Gaming x AI is officially here. @AnthropicAI implemented Claude agents into Eve Frontier & Eve Online. That's how seriously they took these worlds. Meanwhile, creators & gamers faded both. Declared them dead, called them too hard, and went looking for easier content. I've spent months talking with gaming founders about AI agents, not as a gimmick, but as useful parts of the game. The real opportunity is in what they enable: new gameplay, services players value, and revenue that supports the world rather than just extracting from it. So are you ready to implement AI Agents into your game? If so, drop a comment or a DM & let's talk.

Are you looking to bring your story alive, add a cinematic touch to your game? Look no further, @ReverbMayo is the lady you need, not only is she incredibly talented but she's also a real gamer meaning she understands mechanics and can implement them in any way needed. She is the lady behind the @WayfindersGG PFPs. Once worn by some of the most influential characters in this industry. Mayo is now ready for bigger and better things, so for any projects out there looking to bring their story alive. She's the one you need.
Most game trailers show you what a game does. I'd rather make the ones that show how it feels. Everything in my first showreel was made solo, from script to final edit. Building a game with a story people should remember? Say the word, my DMs are open.

Gaming founders keep hiring advisors based on who is loud, not who is experienced or knowledgeable. That is how you end up with people who faded EVE Online and EVE Frontier the second the content got hard, then reappear as experts on the next shiny loop. Most of them only ever saw the basic layer. The trailer. The vibes. Whether it was easy to make content about. They never went deep enough to understand the systems, the player-built economy, or why trust and betrayal even matter in a living sandbox. I have been on this the entire time. Real game knowledge is not spotting that something looks cool. It is understanding the loops that hold players, how an economy forms without a hype calendar, and what a community does when nobody is watching the launch trailer anymore. Most of the timeline called both dead and too hard. If your advisor only shows up when a game is easy to farm engagement on, they are not an advisor. They are a tourist reading the surface. Pick the one who actually understands the game underneath.

Eh... The answer to this is a hard No. I'm aware this may upset some people but if your only reason to play a game is to turn a profit, then you are an opportunitist not a gamer. And if your answer is "if I want fun I'll go play web2 games" then please, go do that and while you're at it delete your X and stop wasting people's time. Real gamers dont care about what chain a game is on / what the chart looks like, if we are having fun then that's enough for us. Making money while having fun should be a bonus not the reason. The biggest issue is that people do not want web3 gaming to succeed. They want their bags to succeed and couldnt give a shit what happens to the industry. Take a look at certain chain "maxis" stating they won't play a game because it isn't on their chain. Lies, you won't play/support it because it wouldn't benefit your bag. Gaming in this space will not succeed until we stop this separation between chains and stop putting bags before the game. PS: Daewron posts some great takes make sure to follow him!
Are Web3 players really gamers? The concept of being a gamer gradually faded when we started seeing the games entering the ecosystem as products where the only thing that mattered was the financial opportunity, leaving the gaming experience in the background. This applies to both players and developers. In one way or another, we've all been part of this shift at some point in history. @Ronin_Network

Gaming changes lives. I had the pleasure of speaking with Ben & Merheb last week as they were connecting with creators. They shared their vision & personal stories and the true impact they make in the real world. The work they do in Nigeria is amazing and all the work beyond that too. This is why I offered to support these guys for free because this is something that resonates with me deeply. So, check this out, jump into their Game nights and see what a real community looks like.

We will finally be able to play on Otherdeeds. 100,000 deeds, 100,000 unique worlds. What they are building is visually astonishing, so far we know that there are 74 resources, 4 per deed and not all are equally easy to find. Each resource will be ERC-20C tokens on ApeChain. The most exciting part for me: RISK! Everything you harvest starts unsecured. This means you can lose it on the way home, or someone else might take it. For now, crafting benches secure resources, once secured it's yours to craft with or sell. Which leads me to ask you two questions: Have you ever played a game on ApeChain, and are you ready to play @OthersideMeta?

Still thinking about this stat from the @0xCitadel closed beta. A ship was destroyed every 14 seconds. That's not chaos; that's the economy working. Every lost ship is demand for a new one. Crafters eat, traders eat, haulers eat. Loss is the most honest sink there is, as long as the fights feel fair. Would you play a game where you can lose your ship for real?

Not many people know this, but I started playing @EveOnline to learn English when I was 12. Market orders, fleet comms, scam warnings in local... New Eden was my classroom. Games teach way more than we give them credit for. Patience. Economics. Language. Getting robbed & learning from it. What's something a game taught you that school never did?

It's time to get your game on! The Chimpers Genesis: Shards of the Diamond Fleece demo dropped today! Playable on PC, phone, and tablet, it comes in 9 languages. I've already played a fair bit, rode a dragon and channeled my inner Samurai. The video is dropping soon, but for now, give it a whirl here: thediamondfleece.com. @ChimpersHQ on top!

Tech issues aside, this is why you should be hiring creators. Seeing the Bad Bikers mint go wrong in more than 1 way is honestly such a shame; I really thought they would absolutely cook this. The trailer looked amazing. The product strategy looked great. And the Raffle was the cherry on top. The downfall (besides the tech issues) appears to be the lack of understanding about the raffle & the reason for the trading being locked. Having been in this space for a long time, I believe this could have been avoided by running a small & in comparison cheap trust/exposure campaign. If the team had hired credible creators who explained the minting & raffle process, the FUD would have never appeared, which could have possibly resulted in far more people minting this. Either way, I really hope they bounce back stronger and show people this is not the end of the road. I could be entirely wrong here, but this is just my opinion. What's yours?
MINT FUNDS REFUNDED. Our mint went wrong in more ways than one, Issues with minting in USDC, confusion at mint site for ETH maxis, issues with X spaces, But the biggest problem was some people labelling our project as a scam, all because we were planning on not opening secondary trading till Monday. We were planning on raffling a Harley Davidson to minters, not secondary buyers, and many of the minters had earned raffle ticket multipliers in discord that we wanted to account for properly etc We just wanted time to make sure we executed that properly and fairly for all involved. Some people, after doing very little digging, called our project a 'scam' and proclaimed 'red flag'. Despite every part of our plan being righteous in every way. To those people, please see the article below where we explained, before the mint, why we were doing this. Additionally, please explain to me what possible malicious motivation we could have for delaying secondary - especially when it is clearly an unpopular decision that negatively effects the perception of a mint? While we're disappointed in those people, we do accept that we could have warned minters about secondary more, it was somewhat in the small print, for that I apologise. We will continue with the game no matter what happens, it has undeniable commercial potential, but the web 3 relationship will be re assessed. The funds have already been returned to those that were able to mint, please see below. Everyone can keep their JPEGs, and if anyone who didn't mint changes their mind about us and wants to rep a Los Primos NFT I'll send you one for free, off the blockchain. I hope those that proclaimed us as scammers with such vigor, have the decency to clear our name with the same level of enthusiasm. A disappointing day for the space, that remains exactly where it deserves to be, but also a long needed wake up call for Bad Bikers. Lastly, on the off chance that anyone seeing this is interested in an equity investment in an organisation that has zero interest in launching a token, you know where to find us.

WoW Forever starts in just over 12 hours. I've played every single big MMORPG player apart from World of War craft. Is now the time to play it for the first time?

The best token sink in web3 gaming might be something that disappears. @enjin's Fort Canning upgrade brings expiring NFTs & NFT lending to the Matrixchain on Nov 16. Season passes that actually end. Rentals that come back on Monday. An example of this could be a premium sub to an MMORPG. The Sub provides additional XP/Mats/Gold giving a slight advantage over the non paying player. You purchase it, receive the NFT with an expiration timer of 30 days. Use it to its full potential for 30 Days, or if you stop playing half way through sell it on. Can you see this as something worth trying?

The most useful lesson in Web3 gaming might come from a WWII bomber that never made it home. The military examined bullet holes on returning bombers to decide where to add armour. Abraham Wald spotted the problem: those planes had survived hits in those spots. What worried him were the areas where the returning planes hadn’t been hit. We make the same mistake in Web3 gaming: We study the games that took off. How often do we look at the ones that lost their players before launch? Lets take a look at @Debellum: Their first playtest had lots of hype. But then came the NFT mint & it failed hard. Unsurprisingly, without a full working product and then? Well, months of silence, broken up by the one answer the community kept getting: “Soon.” Then today, the game dropped. No excitement to be found. And the game is unstable & buggy as can be. But bugs are something players will help you fix, right? If they still care enough to show up. That’s the part I’d pay attention to as a builder. The team can see my matches, they can read my feedback. What they can’t see in those match stats is the person who asked for an update three months ago, got “soon” for an answer, and never came back. If you’re building a game, go talk to someone who used to turn up in your Discord every night and quietly stopped. Ask them when they lost interest, then listen. That’s your missing plane.

Everyone thinks they know what makes a game successful. A strong economy. Solid revenue. Great graphics. A hundred other boxes to tick. Yet most of them miss the most important one: community. You could build the best game in the world, but if players don't feel like they belong somewhere, they'll go back to the games where they feel at home. Look at EVE Online. So many subscriptions stay active not because people are grinding or farming the economy, but because they log in to catch up with their so called internet friends/family. That's what keeps a game alive for 20+ years. Not the loop but the people.

Did someone say... !CHIMP? @ChimpersHQ must easily be one of the most consistent teams in this space & seeing how they expand and treat their owners made this one a no brainer! Acquired my very own Isha, Genesis Chimp today & needless to say @_Craig_ was delighted given he's been in my ear about them forever!

Hot take: Play, earn, sell is not a Game loop A loop isn't "play, earn, sell". That's a withdrawal button with graphics. A real loop looks more like: Prepare -> Commit -> Risk -> Return -> Earn or Invest -> Repeat. Every step needs a reason to exist that isn't the token. Remove the token & if the loop collapses, there was never a loop. Is there even a game yet that nails this one?
