This is why we need to actually #wargame. If you are going to waste $$$ and time at an MTC you better have been #wargaming everything. Yes you are better off letting both sides play the game. It has to be safe to fail if you want to learn something.

No. I don’t mean that garbage throwaway COA development “wargaming” you did. Start #wargaming in development and keep wargaming. If you wait until that step in MDMP your plan probably won’t work.

Excellent event in @fortcircle Shores of Tripoli
#OTD on 31 October 1803, USS Philadelphia ran aground on an uncharted reef off Tripoli after pursuing a Tripolitan vessel. Unable to free the frigate and under attack by enemy gunboats, Captain William Bainbridge surrendered his ship and crew.
The loss set the stage for Lieutenant Stephen Decatur’s daring raid to burn the captured frigate in February 1804. Bainbridge and his men, however, remained prisoners until peace was secured in June 1805.
