Honest assessment:1) internet & algorithmic addiction bends the brain 2) cognitively, being ultra wealthy means life is a series of your own preferences & that is cognitively akin to being kicked in the head by a donkey - daily.

I had to watch this 3 times because I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. Republican Ashley Moody telling Americans they need to put their “bosses” first. Late-stage capitalism is one hell of a drug. Fuck the CEO class. We need to put the people first!

This is such an insane thing to say out loud. No wonder Ashley Moody has been campaigning from the basement.

A lot of people don't realize that not only is Trump's mass deportation separating Latino families. It's also killing the construction industry in South Texas. It's a death sentence for many Latino business owners and families.
Good @NickMiroff piece

ALT The home-building industry in South Texas is where Trump’s least popular actions have converged to squeeze men working in construction. High mortgage rates have sapped housing demand, fuel prices are driving up construction costs, and the ICE crackdown has squeezed the labor supply. Benny Melendez, a general contractor who started his business seven years ago, invited me to a half-built house he is trying to finish outside McAllen. Melendez told me that he used to build on spec, investing his own money in a project with confidence that he’d quickly flip a sale. Now he builds only for clients who pay up front. Building a house used to take him four months, but now it takes eight to 12, he said, because he can’t find enough workers.
